The band name actually has nothing to do with their ages. BABYMETAL means "new metal" in Japanese. Meaning they invented a new heavy metal genre "Kawaii Metal" (Kawaii means cute in Japanese). If you have any questions about BABYMETAL, let me know.

Funny you said you could listen to them all day. I do. her voice silky smooth. the band is world class. and Moa and YUI. are cute dancers to metal. which is really unique. good reaction. hope you become fans. they are actually becoming more famous each day. and are getting known for amazing live shows. going on tour with red hit chili peppers. after they say them perform. they will take over the world soon.
The two younger girls are 17 (as of last June & July). Su-metal, the lead singer will be 19 on December 20th. They've been in BABYMETAL since it started in 2010.

The three girls names are Suzuka Nakamoto 20 (Su-Metal, lead singer), Yui Mizuno 19 (Yuimetal, scream & dance on the left), and Moa Kikuchi 19 (Moametal, scream & dance on the right).
They are world famous, not just in Japan. They started performing at very young ages (Su was only 5yo). BABYMETAL formed as an idol group originally in 2010 when the girls were 11, 11, and 13. In 2013, the main singer became to old for the idol group and had to "graduate" out of the group. BUT, their manager/creator of the group (Key Kobayashi aka Koba-Metal) saw its' huge potential and decided to turn the group into a real band to keep the original members together forever. That's also the year they gained new members of the band called the Kami Band (God Band). Made up of some of the best musicians in the world (which takes there live shows into the realm of legend).
BABYMETAL became really popular, and by the end of 2014 were a worldwide phenomenon. Their popularity is still growing and shows no sign of stopping. Multiple world tours and have sold out arenas (even played live on US national television on the Colbert Late Show in 2016). We're all waiting to see what comes next in 2018 and the HYPE is real.
They've toured all over the world, have won countless music awards all over the world (Metal Hammer Magazine even named their debut self-titled album "Best Metal Album of the 21st Century"), and have opened for The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lady GaGa, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Korn, Stone Sour, and have shared the stage with Rob Halford of Judas Priest, and Dragonforce. All have signed off and credited BABYMETAL as being a legit/talented band.

These girls are now 17 and 19 yrs old. Suzuku is almost 19, Yui and Moa are 17. Check into the Kitsune (fox) sign. The band is made up of 4 of the best metal musicians in Japan. BabyMetal has been around since 2010. Amazing life. I"ve seen them twice. Play huge shows of 50k ppl in Japan. Sold out all over Europe and the US. Listen to some of their other stuff.
Oh and the type of music/style is called "Kawaii", which is cute in Japanese.

I could be off but I think some of them were 12 when they started the band.
FYI the "Baby" part is a pun on a japanese word. It sort of mean "newborn" if I remember correctly which is a reference to the new music genre kawaii metal :) nice reaction though, you should try watching Road of Resistance. It's a live music video.

Don't take the criticism too much. It is your reaction. And reactions, with an actual reaction is way more interesting than a reaction with someone silent the entire time. (If I wanted to watch the source video without commentary, i would). The only time talking is out of place is when it is talking about things totally unconnected to the video.

Так, все равно думал это написать, но не был уверен, что хватит познаний в английском. В общем, у группы есть своя типа мифология: Бог-Лиса (Fox God или Кицуне-сама по-японски) решил, что что-то маловато металла на Земле и при помощи своего пророка Koba-metal (продюсер группы) избрал трех девочек, чтобы они несли священную музыку в массы, популяризируя металл через смесь с поп-музыкой (если быть совсем точным, с айдол-музыкой). У них на концертах (особенно на ранних) между песнями бывают вставки с небольшими сюжетами из этой самой мифологии и именно поэтому девочки вместо традиционной рокерской "козы" делают "лису". В общем, как-то так.
