Does it have any effect on already existing color on the hair? And is this only beneficial before a chemical treatment?
How often can you use Oplex Chelating treatment? I bought it not knowing it was a professional product. I have very hard water at my home and end up with a lot of build up so I am looking for a product I can use regularly to help get build up out of my hair.
Hi Katherine, as per Olaplex you can do the chelating treatment once a week. You also have the option to use N4C their clarifying shampoo once a week in place of your regular shampoo to clarify without stripping your hair.

Can someone explain to me how and why this is a professional only product. What dangers or special training do you have to undergo to use this. Cant find it wxcept off ebay or other sketch sites where the price is jacked up. Trying to find a chelating treatment for my hair for swimming. Every shampoo that i found id labeled as a claryfing shampoo. Its like impossible to find a treatment like this for consumer use
Question, do you use the No.3 Hair Perfecter at all when doing a chelating treatment? If so, when would you use the No. 3, before or after chelating treatment?
Hi, no you don’t use N3 when doing the chelating treatment. First you pre cleanse the hair with N4C, then you treat the hair with the chelating treatment, and lastly you do a post cleanse and condition the hair. Shampoo the hair again with N4 and follow with the 4-IN-1 mask during a salon service.
You can always use N3 to maintain the hair at home in between salon visits

Hi Justin, how did you like the chelating treatment? Just wanted to let you know for the future heat is not required. If you due process with heat it’s going to accelerate and intensify chelation.

Hi, as per Olaplex directions you would leave the chelating treatment on for 15-30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
Can I use oribe gold lust with this product or I will have to buy the oraplex shampoo
Hey, you can use Olaplex products with other lines but the problem is the gold lust shampoo is not a clarifying shampoo and for the best results a clarifying shampoo is to be used prior to the chelating treatment. They recommend N4C but if you have another clarifying shampoo you can use that as well.
Why did my chelating treatment foam up like mousse?
Some chelating treatments can contain ingredients that create a foaming effect when they come into contact with water. The foaming action helps to lift away impurities from the hair and scalp, providing a thorough cleanse. Can I use this on my colored hair? Will it ruin it?
Hi yes you can, it will not ruin it. This treatment does not strip protein or moisture. Processing is up to 30 minutes. You can always do a strand test before applying it to the entire head so that you feel comfortable and ensure it's suitable for you :)
Someone gifted me this product. Am I able to use it with my Shea moisturizer shampoo ?
Hi it's designed to be used with Olaplex's N.4C bond maintenance clarifying shampoo. You would leave it on for 5 minutes and then rinse the hair and apply the chelating treatment evenly from root to end (1-3 pumps). Don't oversaturate and then work through the hair using the palms of your hands and leave it on for 15-30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly. Then you would do a post cleanse and follow with the mask.
How often should I do this treatment?
Hi Frances, you can do the chelating treatment before every chemical service to prep the hair or as needed to remove buildup. If your hair suffers from dullness, color fading, or lack of curl definition this treatment can help you :)
