Anthony Edwards recently said about Patrick Beverly comparing himself (Ant Edwards) to Michael Jordan, “I just want him to stop…..yea, it’s just because he (Air Jordan) is the greatest to ever play basketball & I’m so far from it.” - Anthony Edwards
It’s good to see that the next eras know that Michael Jordan is the GOAT and they are following the humility of Michael Jordan instead of the unwarranted arrogance of LeBALCO Raymone James. But unfortunately, the next eras are choosing to follow LeBrick James by choosing to skip the NBA All-Star Slamdunk contest instead of following 2-Time NBA Slamdunk Champion- The GOAT aka Michael Jeffrey Jordan.

They need to focus on being the best player they can be which, done properly, can propel a player into being one of the all time greats. I’ve never heard an all time great athlete say their focus was trying to surpass somebody and the media needs to stop pushing the “next best thing” on us. It turns a lot of people off. The NBA enjoyed peak domestic viewership of 40.0 million in 1998 Finals. Twenty five years later and the finals saw viewership of 6.5M
The NBA hardly deserves to be mentioned alongside some other pro sports leagues nowadays. Ratings have been in a free fall.

Also had led amateur team USA to the gold medal in the 1984 Olympics and Bob Knight said he was the best player he's ever seen. The overall team defenses and style of defense is heaven and hell. There is very little similarities between Edwards and Jordan. Jordan was dunking on superstar bigs who were dominant paint controllers and there was much more physicality on defense than today. Edwards is fresh from not even qualifying for a medal in the world championships and disappeared against the Lakers last post season(play-in tournament). Fkn love Ant. And while idk if I’m ready to start comparing him to the GOAT, he is the first player in a very long time where I’m excited to watch his games. I will say that a guy and others like him who play max effort on BOTH sides of the ball, doesn’t duck smoke but in fact looks for it, is playing thru stuff that others sit out on now and is engaging with the fans… that’s they type of person who could restore better behaviors back into the league as he leads by example.

From Ant to Butler Lavine to Kawhi to LeBron, there aren't many. It weighed heavy on a lot more young bucks in the late 90s and early 00s. There was Kobe and young Vinsanity was truly electric much moreso than Ant is - but there were also a lot of _reaches_ with varying degrees of success from Harold Miner to Isiah Rider to Michael Finley.

LeBron’s competition were a bunch of rats. Worse than plumbers. And he helped those rats win rings. LeBron’s teams have defeated the least amount of 50 to 60-win teams among the three. He did beat a 70-win team that MJ and Kobe didn’t.
Plumbers are superior to the social media losers and lame podcasters that LeBron has beaten in his entire career. Can’t wait when the LeSteroid scandal finally breaks the news after he retires. It will happen….

Anthony Edwards is the next Chosen One. I saw his potential the moment he baptized Watanabe during his rookie season. The kid has crazy springs in him. The only thing I didn’t like what he did was when he texted that IG model, Paige Jordae, to get an abortion. I guess you can say he just committed abortion on John Collins’ career! 😂
Kobe Bryant and Kawhi Leonard play more like late 90s Michael Jordan while a young Dwyane Wade and Anthony Edwards play like 80s Michael Jordan. I was watching a video where Ewing blocks MJ’s shot. Next play, MJ cleanly blocks Ewing. MJ was VENGEANCE. Only Larry Jordan was better than him he said since Mike copied of all his older brother’s moves.
Anthony Edwards at the age of only 22 needs to be the face of this league. He came in 2 years after Luka and Shai and may get further than them in the playoffs by Year 4. You can say I’m an Ant fan to the Ant-Man! He’s the ONE, folks. The young Simba. The young GOAT. The long lost son of Michael Jeffrey Jordan.
When it’s all said and done…
    Best of all-time (B.O.A.T.)
    1. Michael Jordan 🚤
    2. Kobe Bryant
    3. Anthony Edwards
    Greatest of all-time (G.O.A.T.)
    1. Michael Jordan 🐐
    2. Anthony Edwards???
    3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
People will forget about LeBron very quickly and realize they were duped all those years because he was doping. Ant’s ceiling is top 10 but his floor is DWade. Now I love DWade. My No. 3 favorite player of all-time just like his number. But DWade was hurt a lot.
Ant doesn’t want to load manage. I see a lot of young MJ in him. Got drafted by a garbage franchise based in a very cold city. He’s already showing leadership like young Mike had to do in the mid 80s. Then add the 2008-2010 Kobe element where Kobe had two 7-footers next to him. Add the 6’4 height like DWade and the same aggression to the rim in his early 20s.
I’m not sure Ant will ever surpass Kobe as the 2nd greatest SG ever but it’s not unrealistic he couldn’t surpass Jerry West or DWade for 3rd greatest SG. Jerry went 1-8 in the Finals. DWade was hurt a lot, never won an MVP similar to West, and made First Team only twice while MJ made it 10x and Kobe made it 11x. At least give credit for Ant staying loyal to Minny.
If let’s say Ant wins only 1 ring and 1 Finals MVP, he’s already higher than James Harden, Allen Iverson, Clyde Drexler, Ray Allen, and Reggie Miller for me. He can enter top 5 SGs by winning 1 ring and being the Finals MVP. He’s only 22, folks. This might be the year when he becomes a breakout SUPERSTAR in the playoffs.
Even though I’m not a Timberwolves fan, I will be watching this team very closely come postseason and for years to come. I’m getting MJ deja vu with this kid. He’s the one to watch for every playoffs. We might have Denver vs. Minnesota WCFs for many more years to come. Denver to Ant is like Detroit was to Jordan. That last obstacle to climb before reaching the top.
Who needs Bronny and Bryce when MJ already has two sons in Kobe and Ant making the top 10 all-time? And Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler are pretty great too. Michael Jordan is the Jesus Christ/Anakin Skywalker/Superman/Batman of NBA history. He’s the King of all kings. The Icon of all icons. The God among gods.
By 2030, my top 5 favorite players ever….
    1. Michael Jordan
    2. Anthony Edwards??
    3. Kawhi Leonard
    4. Dwyane Wade
    5. Penny Hardaway
MJ = Mufasa (although he’s not dead yet)
    Ant = young Simba
