Hello is it possible to use google duo to without Google duo?
I've used it to do a group call and i use both the Nest hub max or my phone which is the Umidigi F1.
Does all the members need to have an internet connection?
The way the group chat continuously changes the order of people is super annoying.
I love Google Duo... I group chat with my granddaughter son-in-law and his mother every night bedtime! Love it!!!💖💖💖

I just discovered this video. I am so happy. You see my mom is in a care home and it's in lockdown now. I contacted the home and they said we can only provide video communication ONLY if you have an iPhone or iPad.
I told them screw that you should be able to see her even with an android.
So I did my investigation and found you with tons of information. I will send this to the IT person at the care home. I had to do his job. Guess I should do his job.
Once I try this I will let you know the outcome. Mom's care home is in Ontario and I'm in British Columbia.

I love using Duo, to call my parrent. It has been great for my daughter to be socialy close to her grand parentes while keeping safe distance. (I think social distancing is just a misleading exprecion, we want to be socialy close, while keeping physical distance).
I needed this coz I’m switching to A note 10 plus and my bf will be on his iPhone until November when he is able to change and we ft all the time so thank youuuu

I'm having an issue with the group chat, I have a android note 10 and my daughters mum got a s10 and my niece got a iPhone not sure which one, I've created a group of all 3 of us and when I tried the group call only my niece with the iphone could answer not sure why my daughters mums phone couldn't join. Do we all have to have each mobile no saved to able to group video call?

Can I leave video message to my own number? I have iPhone Duo and Nest Hub Max, sharing same number (I want to leave video messages from iPhone to Nest Hub at home). I can make video call, using "Call my Home Devices", but when I record video message it won't allow me to choose my own number or home devices as a contact. Any ideas?

My Tablet has a different phone number associated with it. So, do I use the Tablet number to set up Duo or my Cell Phone Number to work across both devices?

It is free. Duo has been changed to the Meet app. Check to see if that is available in the Play Store.

Thank you for this demo which I sought out because I've given my Mum a Lenovo smart display for Duo calls. These don't support group calls and I understand that the same applies to Duo on a laptop. Does anyone know what happens if you try to include someone whose device doesn't support group calling in a group call? Do they only get part of the conversation or do they not get the call at all?
They will only receive notifications for the group on the supported device. So even if she had the Smart Display, she won't get a notification of a new call, but if she had Duo set up on a iPhone or Android phone she would get the notification there.

can one use a "google voice" number?
One feature I do miss, is ability to call between my mobile devices.
I can call from my phone/tablet to my home devices, but not between my phone and tablet. That would sometimes be super convenient while my daughter use one and I have my other mobile device.
Of corse if I put them on different accounts that would solve it, but that's inconvenient too.

Bret, when I make a group call some of the receivers do not receive the call. How can I fix?
They might need to check to make sure they have already set up their phone number on Google Duo, make sure notifications are on and then maybe reboot the device. Also if you tell them a time you are starting they should be able to open the app and see that you are on the call and join in.
I have a question why the picture moves in video call ?? I just started to use
It moves to bring to the front the person that is talking.

On samsung phones I have noticed whenever you click on a contacts name theres an option for video chat, call and message. How does this video chat feature work?
If it shows the Google Duo icon it will let you call through that app but for the most part that video chat icon has never worked for me. The only way is if you carrier supports video calling and the person that you are calling has the same carrier and a supported device.

That 8 user limit is a no-go for a lot of people and organizations.
Can you make it stay on WiFi and not automatically switch to data?
It doesn't look like there is a setting in the app. Check your phone's wifi settings to make sure Auto Reconnect is on.

It looks like there is no option to do that. Best think would be to create a new group. You can only leave a group yourself.
Ok I was doing fine till I watched the whole video. Holy confusing. Not super Techy being a senior. Might have to watch it about 10 times. Great to have it though and will continue to learn more about it.
