@56:54 onwards for a minute. This moment (The question and Koskenniemi's reply) reflects why I still have faith in "international law". Thank you, Mr. Koskenniemi, and Mrs. Marks, of course.

Professor Koskenniemi and Professor Marks . . . if we're going to use titles, then we should be accurate.

This is a misreading, in fact mishearing or misunderstanding thereof. In my reading, what is emphasized by Mr. Koskenniemi is that the names like Posner, Goldsmith do not deal with "international law" as understood by the discipline; they are part of the story, but not the general narrative.
Moreover, apart from being "American" (though "U.S." and being "American" transformed dramatically in time, esp. bw. 19th and 21st centuries), what do you imply between Wheaton and e.g. Posner?

Dealing with Eurocentrism is not a job for Europeans to do, if we need any objectivity on the matter. It's always good to look at oneself in a critical way, but that's the most we can do, not overgrow or change ourselves to an extension where we lose our own identity and turn into someone else. Dealing with Eurocentrism in my opinion should mean learning and facing the responsibilities we earned altogether with the right to shape the world's political and social order in the last 2 000 years.
