    Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
    I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
    I hope you enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
    I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

    Lol Nathan I like the way you talked to and saved the earth worm I say that because now I don’t feel so weird when I do that. I love these planting videos don’t think I could run the new planters but oh well. I would say get an electric shaver I saw the cut but my damn shaver cuts up my neck and the darn thing is electric. Keep up the good work Nathan.

    Nathan so enjoy your channel. The experiments are fun to watch. I wish u and Brian a corn challenge. Plant a corn planter width with soybeans on both side. U would be surprised the yield. Would be better if chet and Zach would be in on it

    I think the dust on the tractor is the Griots foam. I bought some after seeing it here and it does bead water great but my tractor dusted up like never before. had to clean the windows with Deere glass cleaner to keep the windows clear. and then they stayed clear. tractor did not.

    What you've already planted is fine. If anything those tap roots are 2 to 3 weeks ahead of other local farmers. That will make a positive yeild difference along with the totes of sugar. You are going to have a Rockstar season if you dont get flooded out. Put the pedal to the metal and turn and burn bro. Get those seeds in the ground. Best wishes Border View Farms. You're killing it so far.

    • @bfd1565
      @bfd1565 Před rokem

      @@nickjewart9351 All plants have a tap root. It's the first root when it germinates.

    • @BorderViewFarms
      @BorderViewFarms  Před rokem +1

      Technically, the first root out is the radical root, but I appreciate what you're saying. Corn has a fibrous root system and no true tap root. Beans, on the other hand, do have a tap root.

    Drone shots really show how good a job gps guidance works. Weather really nice in SE Ohio today. Hopefully enough rain will fall during germination. The 1/4 inch of rain must have made the wheat happy.

    I really enjoyed watching all you were doing. I do have a question that you don;t need to answer or even thought about. You said at some point the bean planter will need to be upgraded. At that time will you be looking a a bigger planter that is capable of strip till? Also I saw in another u-tubers chanell a 36 row corn planter. It's a monster. Thank you for all your video's.. Blessings to you and your family. Please be safe and stay healthy.
