    My tip (after 4 kids) is always to allow them to try walking with no shoes or socks or onesies.
    They get great feedback from their bare feet.
    Lovely video, by the way...thanks!

    @mama natural I just wanted to encourage you that walking early is not a sign that something is wrong with your daughter. Me and my siblings all walked early (some never crawled). We all did well in life. My sister in fact graduated college at 16. Please don’t listen to the discouragement. People are often worried about their own little ones and so they discourage others. God bless

    This video gave me some ideas how to encourage my baby girl to walk. She’s already 8 months and picking her self up and cruising along the couch. She loves it when we take her by the hands and she toddles around the house.

      My baby as a newborn DEF stiffened up her legs as a newborn bc I just wanted her to know what it felt like having to stand on something w/ her feet. Plus there was a table by the mirror so I "made her walk" & let her watch herself. So yeah, she was "standing." If you can call that 🙄 standing. Then I had to go to work.

    Walking early is associated with learning difficulties in early childhood if the child does not meanwhile continue to regularly crawl. Curious to know if your child had some delays in fine motor or learning letter sounds. Crawling longer and walking later is associated with better scores on the preschool test. This information comes from a neuroscientist btw not the CDC which removed crawling as a milestone (even though those who don’t crawl often end up having learning difficulties).

    • @JosefTorkelsen
      @JosefTorkelsen Před 5 měsíci

      We purposefully didn’t encourage walking with our child and just enjoyed the journey. The child in this video was extremely fast in reaching the stages, definitely not normal. From the looks at the props though, the baby was encouraged to start early.

    • @Blockishbookhead
      @Blockishbookhead Před 5 měsíci

      @@shalombereshiyth There are people without arms who play the piano and those without legs who complete marathons. That doesn’t discredit the fact that most people without arms and legs won’t do a lot of less demanding things than those because when you don’t have arms and legs it makes many things harder. The same may apply with not crawling. You will have your exceptions but many who don’t crawl may struggle as a result.

    This is a really lovely video but I imagine it could be a source of stress for some parents whose babies are late at attempting and mastering to walk. All babies are different and very unique. It would have been more helpful if you had omitted the babies' ages.

    • @mamanatural
      @mamanatural  Před rokem +34

      I can see where this could be helpful but adding the ages are equally helpful as baseline for average development-all kiddos do develop at different rates but if a babe is very behind the curve it can be helpful to know so that a doctor can assess and provide early help if needed!

    • @brandym9362
      @brandym9362 Před rokem +25

      @@mamanatural I disagree. You mention it’ll be useful as a “baseline for average development”. However, your baby isn’t average in this case. He’s well ahead of the average! Doctors in the UK would send you back home if you go see them concerned about your baby not walking at 10-12 months. In the UK you’re not seen until 18 months. So how has your baseline helped in this case? As the other poster said, no need to mention the age when as a mum you should know this could add undue pressure on other parents. However, it’s your channel so you can do what you like!

      Nah I love watching these videos! My child is 17 months and isn't walking yet but she is getting there and can cruise and hold a walker. I live in the UK so don't get seen till 18 months but I'm not worried and I love seeing videos of little ones growing and taking steps etc... makes me excited to see my own little one do this one day. If it causes a parents stress then they should just not watch the video 🤷‍♀️
      You don't see a grown man crawling into the office with a dummy in his mouth, so really at the end of the day every child gets there and if there's some medical reasoning then I'm sure it will be detected and support will be given to them in due time.

    • @brandym9362
      @brandym9362 Před rokem +4

      @@maz2825 saying don’t just watch these videos isn’t helpful. The title doesn’t warn you that it’s about another parent showing off their child reaching this milestone way ahead of the normal milestone so you won’t be worried /concerned until you actually finish watching the videos. This video is helpful but could’ve been a lot better with a bit of sensitivity and disclaimer 🤷🏽‍♀️
