Hello & welcome! I'm Daniel aka "Adventureman Dan." I've been living on the edge, from one adventure to another for the past nine years. He started on a 8 foot boat and worked his way up to an 80 footer, nice. Lovely boat, the saloon is a warm inviting space, that galley absolutely gorgeous. I wish he was down here in Southern Australia, I'd love to have him captain and charter his boat for a week around Christmas and the Sydney to Hobart race, now there's a week that would be one to cherish for the rest of my days. Great clip, really well done, a nice look around a very fine sailing vessel and a interview with the owner/captain

As the original owner/builder of TABOO, now called Arrow, please correct, the builders in Guernsey were AQUA STAR not Southern Ocean Shipyards as they were none existent in 1994/95. Geoff Willson and his team from Aqua Star were the amazing builders. Also it would be nice to know 'Ron's" full name and how a person can charter direct. Regards, Miranda Hartstone. "Hartstone" is engraved on the hub of that beautiful helm.

Ron is still doing pizza Tuesday? We have buddy boated from Greece to Israel with Ron. Wintered in Tel-Aviv marina with him. Had many fantastic pizza nights, trips to Negev desert and Eilat. Even Christmas dinner!

Almost never watched this as I could never afford a boat like this , but im glad I did as that interview was the Jewel . Ol Captain Ron is an impressive man and you can just tell by his quietness that he doesn't need to brag , Hope he brings it to Aussie Would love to see it sail past the opera house .

Oh yeah the paddle boards are really good there, probably no problem to getting the spinnaker pole out when it’s needed just stow the boards under the single berths in the crew cabin or under the owners bed.

Helm is so strange. No space to sit comfortably and also I'd be scared to hurt my toes on that wheel!
Typical of the era designed as a Whitbread round the world racing yacht. Comfort was not in the design specifications, all about speed
It is, but I imagine when you're out at sea it being great! Can't wait to sail with Ron someday soon. :)
Beautiful, but I was feeling claustrophobic on that tour, I could never be comfortable down there.

I had to google it because sometimes even I get confused. A 2 masted Schooner has a Fore Mast and Main Mast at aft, 3 Masted Schooner has the same plus a Mizzen Mast at aft.
We're all learning. :)

sorry but I just dont like the layout. 3 diferent areas. and the meain area is not what I expected regarding cabins

I see a lot of problems in converting this into a fully functioning sailboat the fender bags are all bleached out by the sun so I expect that the running rigging is going to be the same. I didn’t see if there was extra room to run a second spinnaker off the main mast or maybe a code Zero. Face it you’re out of your league.

Yeah he aint watching the game in the pacific. 65k a year my man. Charters bring in scratch but not that kinda scratch.
As the original owner operators, of "Taboo" (from 1994 to 2022,) now called 'Arrow" We chartered her for an average of $25K a week. Not exactly chicken feed..lol
