- It's time to get some spring and summer clothes for 2024! In this video I am shopping for clothes at Old Navy, Gap, Athleta and Evereve but here's the catch: I am only trying on clothes that I see on the mannequins! Ok I may have cheated a few times... but for the most part that was the plan! This was a fun way to inspire me to try on items I may have not otherwise tried on. You might want to try this yourself! I buy designer jeans because they fit well and hold up well. They don't fade. The most I've spent was $218 but I usually try to get them on sale.
The most I've spent on a pair of jeans was 90 bucks at Chicos. Great fit and fabric made it worth it.

I like the linen pants with the denim shirt and your tank underneath. Add a crossbody bag for a little interest. Like the mannequin idea. Easy peasy.

I don't think I've ever spent more than about $50 for jeans, but I've tried some expensive jeans on, and I'd be willing to pay more if they didn't look so much, on me, like my other jeans.

Yes I noticed that too! Her name is Honey, she's a cutie! I was surprised to like the linen top. It IS a linen feel and I am getting used to that but I'm liking the fit.
The most I've ever spent on jeans is $50. Mostly I just buy thrift store jeans, wait for sales at Old Navy, or more recently I bought Walmart jeans.

Love this video idea and shopping video. Most of my jeans are old navy, just can’t stomach paying more for jeans. Just tried loose fit ones there and they’re cute! Great price to try new trends that may not be around so long.
I definitely am liking the looser styles for comfort, especially in the summer!

So interesting that it was hard to find some of the items displayed on the mannequins! I generally think of them as mini advertisements for what's for sale. Never once though have I thought to try on a whole outfit as presented on one, great idea! Might try that next time myself :) I just had two linen items delivered from Old Navy... the shorts are beige and a perfectly comfortable keeper but my gosh the black pants feel like sand paper on the inside!!
I was surprised I had to hunt for stuff! I am a sales rack shopper generally so I was worried it would be all the new full-price items but that wasn't the case especially at ON and Gap because that stuff is just always on sale haha. I wonder if the linen pants would get softer with washing? Maybe someone else will comment on that 😃
@@playingthemomgame I think you're right about the linen pants getting softer with each washing. I went a couple weeks ago to Old Navy when all the shorts were 50% off. Tried on 2 pairs of women's linen blend shorts and 2 pairs of the men's. The women's were pull on elastic waist and kind of slouchy. The men's were more tailored and had belt loops so I bought a pair of those. Really cute.

Yeah it is definitely oversized but it is so soft and comfortable! Yep they are all owned by the same corporation. They are kind of my "go-to" trio of brands.
I love AYR The Secret Sauce wide leg jeans. I think we have similar body shapes and I think you would really like them. They are a little pricey but the fit is great. ❤

Edit: Most I spent on jeans was around $160. I bought them in 2015 and still have them. Pretty good condition too.

I liked the fit but I am looking for something with a little more flowy denim and also a cropped-ish leg. I get so hot in regular denim in the summer!

Good denim is pricey, but I can tell you as someone who is very price-sensitive that the VALUE is definitely there. Better denim (I guess what you'd call "designer denim") fits better, wears better, lasts longer, feels better, doesn't lose its shape, etc.
It's worth finding the brand that fits you well and then investing in a couple pair, rather than, say, five or six pairs of jeans from a mid-range brand or fast fashion company.
Agreed! I will spend more money on denim if I find the right fit because if your jeans don’t fit or are uncomfortable it just ruins the whole outfit!
I realized the truth of this theory when I converted my husband to nicer jeans from everyday Levi's. There's nothing wrong with Levi's! But some occasions call for a more put-together look. He looked SO sexy! - but tailored and appropriate too. And honestly he walked a little taller.

Fun to watch, and a good idea to use the mannequins as inspiration. The only of those stores I have here is Old Navy, but of course! there are other stores to try. Most I've ever spent for jeans? Not very much. The last 2 pairs I thrifted, and I think they were both less than $15. Neither is perfect but both are pretty good, and if I find better, I certainly won't mind swapping better ones for these.
Oh, ALSO... I just cut the tails off a very soft cotton button-up shirt. I'm petite and the tails were much too long. So I cut it off straight along the bottom and sewed a new hem. Wondered if it is now too short, but hey, guess it's just cropped and very fashionable!
I also love to thrift! I find jeans thrifting hard though until the styles have been out long enough to have donations.
I think the most I’ve ever spent on jeans was 95.00 and I felt guilty about it😂😂but I think I’m going to try your idea of picking out mannequins and finding my outfits that way since I’m not good at matching up outfits for myself. It seemed to really work out for you. You looked so good in all the pants (and tops). BTW I found a good pair of wide leg jeans at American Eagle last year. They sit just below the waist… so cute and not a heavy stiff Jean either. Still loving all your videos❤️❤️ happy Mother’s Day🌸

I hate shopping and despise trying clothes on in the store. However, I like watching YOU do it! Also love that you always show the Amazon pic or in this case the mannequin bc it's crazy how different the look can be on a real body. Any idea on the inseam of those Old Navy linen pants? Super cute, but pants are normally short on me and even though that's popular, not my thing. I say this every time, but really enjoy your videos! 💕

I think it would be nice to gp and hunt for clothes in the shop... where I live we dont have any plus size on stores that's why I always have to order online... so it is often not fitting like it should 😢

Once you buy high end jeans you can’t go back. I have spent 180.00 but my average is 100,00 I always wait for a sale and try on many many pair, styles and sizes.
That is me, trying on SO many pairs until I find the right ones… and by then I don’t care as much what they cost, I’m just glad to find a pair I like! 😆

I don't think I've ever spent more than $100 on jeans. I'm into the loose, linen pant look too. I'm a size XS and it always seems when I see something I like, my size is on the mannequin! And I don't mean a jacket or outer layer, like what you pulled off the mannequins. I'm not going to strip down the mannequin and leave it naked! So I end up asking a sales associate to do it. And then I feel obligated to buy it. So I just don't go to stores anymore and buy everything online.

When I was editing this video my husband heard me say in the video “I don’t know if I would spend $235 on a pair of jeans” and he’s like “no, you wouldn’t” 😂

I never buy higher end jeans less they are marked way down. ....way down.
No more than $70! If I don’t love them, if they don’t fit me absolutely perfectly and if they aren’t timeless no way would I spend more than $70. I’m frugal tho. They just jeans!
I think I definitely hesitate over about $80 but prices for me have crept up! I am pretty picky though so I usually have less jeans they maybe just cost more!
