Making a Rotary Weld Positioner Table

  • I have wanted to make a rotary weld positioner table for some time now. TIG welding all those valves up a couple of videos back was the last straw. So here it is.. Making a rotary weld positioner table. The weld positioner woks by allowing you to keep the torch welding torch in a single location and rotating the job around. This makes getting a more uniform weld much easier ... once you get the hang of it. I used an old face plate to make table for the rotary weld positioner and drove it from a 12v DC windscreen wiper motor via a chain drive. The rotary table is variable speed so that different size welding jobs and different welding processed can be accommodated.
    Some of the parts I used. Amazon associate links.

    A rotary table really makes tig welding a breeze on circular welds. A very nice and neat way of making the table too.

    Brilliant. New subscriber since yesterday, i watched your video on the valve modifications. You mentioned the rotary station and i was hoping to see it soon. I am delighted this morning. Very interesting the ingenious way you made the sprocket. Love the you're recycling old tanks, but also the simplicity of your methods. If i had to do such a project, and i might will in a near future, i would have calculated everything, taken a lot more time than you did. I am more in the realm of electrical and computer engineering, more of what i learned in other realms are from This Old Tony and other awesome CZcamsrs. I am surprised you don't even have 20k subscribers, the production quality is really top notch. Lovely British accent too. Looking for to see more content from you. Cheers from Canada.

    • @Handmadeextreme
      @Handmadeextreme  Před 3 lety +2

      Thank you so much for your kind words. I did a couple of calcs for this but nothing major. Just basic gear ratios to work out how fast it would spin and the PCD for doing the little sprocket. Nice to see that we have another This Old Tony fan in the comments. I think his channel is one of the benchmarks within the niche.
      I set myself a goal of 20K by xmass. Had some really good growth in the last month so i'm optimistic that the channel will get there.
      Thank you so much for the support and I'm glad you are enjoying the channel.
