Love it, and something I must try. Reminds me of the legendary drum intro to "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zep, where they recoded the drums in a large open stairwell. As a hobby sound recordist it's a technique that can add so much more to the sound but I never tried it. I've seen guys playing tones underwater with a Bluetooth speaker in a plastic bag and using a hydrophone to capture it. I love anything out of the ordinary like that. It can often add that certain something you never expect.

This reminded me of when I made a college film years ago, there was a scene with a guy in a bath that wasn't 'splashy' enough, so I mic'd a mug of water and moved my fingers around in it..totally sold it! 😀

I LOVE this way of working!! Have been doing it for years, would absolutely love to work on movies, how do you get in to this industry? I have a masters degree in sound engineering, I am a tonmeister.
I actually wrote my masters project based on field recording and worldizing, I did tons of re-amping etc - 'the world is impacting the sound' was something I literally wrote in my masters thesis..... What a dream to get to work like that!! Wow!!!
