Damijan Močnik JERUSALEM - Dekliški pevski zbor sv. Stanislava ŠKG

Na letnem koncertu zborov in orkestra Zavoda sv. Stanislava, maja 2017 Dekliški zbor sv. Stanislava Škofijske klasične gimnazije pod vodstvom Helene Fojkar Zupančič izvaja skladbo JERUSALEM skladatelja Damijana Močnika.
“JERUZALEM pomeni »mesto miru«, vendar se, tako kot bi odslikaval svet, to mesto vsako jutro znova prebuja v nemiru, konfliktih, sovraštvu ... Ideja za skladbo in njena končna oblika je zorela ob številnih pogovorih s prijateljico in dirigentko Heleno Fojkar Zupančič ter na vajah z njenim čudovitim zborom.
V skladbi sem uporabil ime mesta v številnih jezikih (egipčansko, aramejsko, akadsko, hebrejsko, latinsko, grško, arabsko, slovensko) in odlomke iz Psalma 121 v petih jezikih (angleško, hebrejsko, arabsko, latinsko in slovensko). Ker je Jeruzalem sveto mesto treh največjih monoteističnih religij, sem izhajal iz različnih podob judovske, krščanske in muslimanske glasbe. Nastala je slikovita in silovita zvočna freska, ki na eni strani izraža velikanska nasprotja, na drugi pa gorečo prošnjo za mir.” (D.Močnik)
“Jerusalem means »the city of peace«; however, the city reflects the world we live in. Every morning it wakes up in restlessness, conflict and hatred. The idea for the composition and its final form matured through numerous talks with my friend and conductor Helena Fojkar Zupančič and at rehearsals with the wonderful St. Stanislav Girls’ Choir of the Diocesan Classical Gymnasium.
In the composition JERUSALEM I have used the name of the city in several languages (Egyptian, Aramean, Akkadian, Hebrew, Arab, Greek, Latin and Slovene) and applied the sections from Psalm 121 in 5 languages (English, Hebrew, Arab, Latin and Slovene). As Jerusalem is the holy city for the three biggest monotheistic religions, I have used different images deriving from Jewish, Christian and Muslim music. What has been created is a picturesque and powerful fresco, which on one hand depicts great contrast, but on the other, a fervent wish for peace.” /Damijan Močnik/
