  • When it comes to the most historic ships of all time, Christopher Columbus’s largest vessel is one of the most famous yet.
Not only was it used for his first voyage across the Atlantic but it was converted, in part, for the first Spanish settlement in America.
But the story of this ship is so much more than its technological marvels or historical landings.
Her life was filled with mystery, mutiny, and scandal.
So before we delve into why Santa Maria is such a big deal, or shine a light on her darker secrets, it’s worth setting the scene to understand why the ship has never been discovered...

It would benefit the narrator and viewers to read any of Samuel Elliot Morrison's books on Columbus such as Admiral of the Ocean Sea for an extremely well researched and documented account of the first and subsequent ships & voyages. The audio of this fantasy work needs to be redone; there is so much incorrect information presented that it would take pages to detail and correct all the misinformation.

People in CZcams comments section trying to understand history isn’t black and white challenge level: impossible
Colombus wasn’t a good dude even by the standard of his time he was bad but his voyage had a monumental impact on the modern history of the world as we know it today. And he did discover america for the European world, we see the impact of Columbus voyage to this day, as opposed to the Norse settlements that lasted less than a decade. Don’t idolize him but screaming over history is just crazy

Was there not hundreds of souls already living in America? So how is it then, Columbus discovered a place previously occupied.

The owner of Santa Maria was a special man, he was chosen by the universe to serve humanity and nature with justice but he turned to opposite, it was unpleasing to his creater and the ship was taken away from him because he used it for wrong purposes, I still remember what happened that day, the was no much in the ship , the treasure was hidden in the caves

What's with those flags? Looks like they're false flagging. Indians are from India, Columbus.

Discovered is the wrong term, it was discovered by the natives. Encountered is better, or at least say discovered for Europeans.

No it was discovery, cause they opened it up as common knowledge to the rest of the world.

Most of the word didn't know about the Native Americans neither did them vise versa, it was the rest of the word who encountered them on a random voyage not the other way around.
