Another huge project that took me way too long to make. This film was crazy with the amount of stuff I could talk about. And I feel like I definitely bit off more than I could chew. But in the end, I am very satisfied with the end product. I really hope you guys enjoy it. And thank you to all the people who helped me in this video XD

That Kitana betrayal was so out of nowhere. I just laughed because of how near-random that death was... AND THEN HE WAS ALIVE AFTER ALL, which made it even more hilarious.

The highlight for me is also that scene with the demon and Shinnok. You'd think Shinnok would kill the demon for daring to speak up to set an example, but nah, he essentially just goes "I don't micromanage."

The Reptile thing is even more egregious when you remember that he’s literally the last of the Saurians, bar Khameleon, since the rest were wiped out when Shao Kahn absorbed his realm into Outworld. Restoring his race is literally Reptile’s main motivation. So if it wasn’t him that Sonya killed in the first movie, who the fuck else could it have been?!
Having spare Saurians running around isn’t just a mistake, it literally invalidates Reptile’s whole character.

It's Khameleon, I think, and like I said , she's the only other known living member of the Saurians, aside from Reptile. Even more so, she's the only living female.

I thought it was Shinnok's initial invasion of Earthrealm that mostly wiped out the Saurians.
That Scorpion speech was so beautiful and emotional that it deserves a Oscar.
I feel like it only holds weight thanks to MK1 through to Armageddon. In the games original timeline revenge really does consume him and screw him over endlessly. However, in the context of these animated movies, nothing bad happens to him because of revenge. He wins the tournament and gets his revenge, and saves the day. He gets his cake and eats it too. Then gets rewarded with a second cake.

@Arcane James Not really he was working with Kano being in the black dragon until in the new timeline in mk9 he left the black dragon to join the police force with Stryker and he got burned by kintaro and Kano saved him and tried to get him to join the bad guys but Kabal rightfully blames Kano for being burned alive having to wear a mask for breathing being a freak without it, he then later joins the good guys but killed by sindel and got brainwashed and revived as quan chi's minions, in mk11 Kano lied to his past self of how he got burned alive and stayed with the black dragon as a bad guy again including in the Mk21 movie.
Also the fact they didn't seem to care about his gruesome death afterwards (along with Kung Lao's as well).
Not need to go that far, Kitana was allowed her fans, Kung Lao his hat, and -Mileena- -Sindel- Li Mei her kunai, so why didn't Stryker at least get his batons or taser?

@Crxstal_Lord I don't like it because it feels rushed. It has a decent amount of battles and I like the tournament part because it keeps it at an easy to follow pace. Again it was rushed, some parts are just there like the intro to the movie where Liu Kang's parents are killed by the Tarkatans and we are left in the dark as to why. Sub-Zero vs Scorpion thing is a good touch but could have been a separate movie. Last the ending is what I hate the most. It's so rushed and feels unsatisfying, like nothing has happened in the end. Could've been its own movie.

Honestly I’m a huge Jade fan so thankfully I didn’t have to watch her die yet again but it really sucked with what they did with her. She has like 2 lines of dialogue and gets her ass kicked twice then disappears. If I was a Mileena fan I wouldn’t hold your breath. She’d probably be just as easily discarded in one of these movies

Mileena main here. I have to say there is nothing more infuriating than seeing her left out of every single movie, over and over and over, so we can watch the Sub/Scorpion story's twenty-third adaptation as though there's anything new that can be said at this point. Mileena has one of the most fascinating backgrounds in the canon, which I why I love her, and it never gets explored. EVER. Not even in the 2021 live action film, where she actually does manage to show up but plays a jobber and gets a hole blasted through her after barely three lines. But at least Sonya's always there to fill the Strong Female Character role. >:( My point is, we don't need another retelling of the tired old Tournament story. We need explorations of characters other than the Special Forces and ninja men. We need to see the other realms. Haven't hardly seen Sareena and Nitara. What about Ermac? Or Skarlet? I'd just like to see some respect for the rest of the roster. Most of the characters I find most fascinating I know next to nothing about, because no one ever features them. And my girl Mileena deserves way better than dying with a massive hole in her abdomen the few times she actually does manage to make it on screen.

Those guys are a bunch of jokes in the games and they end up causing more problems than helping resolve them.

Mistake or not, that's just shitty of the marketing team imo

The second Liu Kang was devastated by kung lao’s death I realized how much underwritten this movie was. If you had no past experience with mortal kombat you’d have no idea why
This is why I liked Scorpion's Revenge. For example, they made a nice little montage of Sonya and Jax's history so their bond can be understood by all audience, regardless of their understanding of MK lore.

Bruh Jax got his arms taken off from three characters in the series. First ermac on mk9, then Subzero in the live action movie. Now Goro in the animation. I’m just confused who did it ☠️
In the original timeline ( MK1-Armageddon ), he never had his arms severed and replaced. The robotic ones were removable cybernetic enhancements.
Everyone is destined to rip his arms out in every timeline, including us. So when you see a big buff black man, and you start to get the urge to absolutely rip his arms out, don't worry about it, because you're either a schizophrenic that is about to get beat up and sent to the hospital or you are living in the Mortal Kombat universe, both aren't ideal outcomes.
Another hilarious video. I started cracking up when the robots arguing and said your girlfriend look like my mom. The the4thsnake bits were funny as well and the animation lesson part was actually really interesting. On the movie side of things I cant believe they tried to cram so much crap in it and even pull that one being bs. It just resulted in a rushed mess.

The whole chosen one being a nobody angle becomes both unintentionally hilarious/ frustrating( which pretty much describes this movie) when you remember the games already did that. Liu kang was the xialons chosen earthrealm representative because of his skill, and altruistic nature. When other people call him the chosen one, their either referring to that, or just making a snide comment concerning his position as earth realms champion. The movie establishing that Liu kang has a pure soul unlike anyone else actually does make him look like the cliche born for greatness chosen one.
THANK YOU, I don't know why many people think he fits in the chosen one that is born to greatness clichê. Mk already "subverts expectations" because the guy with the big name from birth (kung lao) is not the protagonist, the protagonist is just a guy who got chosen because of his merit and hard training

I'm happy with Mileena not being in this movie, because if she was she would just die in a really shitty way like all the other villains. Ed Boon trying to kick her out of the series is doing wonders for her survivability. Also, am I the only one that's tired of seeing Sonya out do all these other female characters with minimal effort?
The villain's were not the ones that dies horribly, it was the heroes. Hell no it doesn't bug me Sonya Blade is the US Special Forces rep. She could wipe out any chick and dudes as well.

IMO, what would’ve been cooler than just a bunch of generic demons tearing the old Lin Kuei and the cyborgs apart is if Shinnok brought Bi Han back as Noob Saibot and had him help do it. Use their own former best boy against them and maybe set up a future challenge for Scorpion and the new Sub-Zero to overcome.
I knew it was gonna be a good one when I saw the Elder Gods all in one video (The4thSnake, History Behind the Warrior, BruskPoet, Dynasty, and TrueUnderdawg, and SonicHaXD)
I’m starting to notice that these movies feel like they’re trying to juggle two different plots that would take a whole movie-length individually dedicated to them to fully develop and tell. They could straight up make two whole movies based on a *single* plot, and allow for more focus on the direction towards them. It allows for these characters to get more screen time and a *lot* more love than how they get in these movies, and to make a *much* better storyline and finally end MK’s curse of bad/mediocre stories.
They probably made just enough money with Scorpion's Revenge for it to be a slight profit so they decided to throw as much material as possible just in case this flopped and it ended up being the final animated MK film

During my 100th time rewatching this, you gave me the most heart-breaking Missed Plotential moment. When Shinnok is "paying" the Lin Ku-ee, you mention Noob Saibot. It would have been awesome if they brought him back at that very moment to "get revenge" for the Lin Ku-ee selling out, and then went into a triple threat with Sub-Zero and Scorpion having drama while fighting him... My heart aches at the moment lost to time....!!!! ;o;
I liked how they portrayed the earthrealmers more relenthless in the tournament, for once a change, since earthrealm usually looses every fight until Liu Kang shows up and beat the shit out of everyone

As much as I love the MK Ninjas,I feel like the Scorpion and Sub-Zero Rivalry is getting in the way from other Stories and it could be save for other Movies,but because the Fans would be outraged that the Movies don't have the Poster Characters they have to be forced even though we don't always need them.
I just wish they'd do the rivalry properly for once, outside of MK1 and Mythologies.

The premise of the third act is cool but it should have been its own movie. The Scorpion and Sub-Zero stuff could have ended when Scorpion got captured, and then the actual tournament could have been fleshed out with longer fights. and then when the elder gods come down, they warn earths fighters(and also the outworld fighters that didn't die.) and then in the third movie it could start with the scene where Sub-Zero and Scorpion first start working together, meanwhile the earthrealm/outworld warriors split up and go to other realms to stop Shinnoks forces from getting other kamidogu instead of him just having the others already, and it all leads to whichever characters survive to deal with One Being Shinnok and we get the kaiju battle we got here, but instead of just Scorp and Sub helping Lui, its the whole squad.

As a Baraka fan myself i already accepted that he is a jobber because he's whole character is technically just being a guard but atleast make a fight that shows that he is more smarter and stronger than the average Tarkatan like that's one thing Baraka fans would like

This movie could have been a big improvement over the last one, but the one being nonsense really was the part that stunk out for me. Especially since his whole thing is that there's pretty much nothing stopping him once he's fully reawoken. I think if they tried to stick to one or two plotlines they could have made a much better movie and open the door to mk3 sequel, but I guess now we have to wait and see for next time.
It's like a big fan service and a big slap at the same time.

2. Kung Lao literally did no damage on Shao Kahn? Like what? He is literally one of the strongest characters and of course he is not stronger than Shao Kahn but Kung Lao attacks him and it's like Shao doesn't feel anything, even Kitana damaged him, even fucking Sonya. After that, Liu Kang attacks him and Shao Kahn is in pain within the first attacks like bruhhhhh... #STOPKILLINGKUNGLAO
3. I just hope that MK12 will change things and start fixing a lot of things.
4. You cannot battle the one being, because if the one being wakes up the realms and all reality will cease to exist. Stupid fucking plot.
5. The only thing I liked about this movie is how they showed how strong and badass Shao Kahn really is and doesn't die easily.
P.S. There is no need for a sequel. Let's just look forward about what's coming for the Mortal Kombat anniversary in 8th of October.
