GoPro Surf: Discovering the Mentawais in 4K

Martin Daly was born in Australia but has spent his life searching for some of the best undiscovered surf spots in the most remote parts of the world. He now runs a world renown surf charter business in Indonesia, the Indies Trader fleet. He takes us back to one of his earliest discoveries, the breaks off the coast of the Mentawais, and brings Felicity Palmateer, Mikala Jones, Marlon Gerber, Tatiana Weston-Webb, Anthony Walsh, and Kai Lenny along for the ride.

I'm impressed! I'm not into surf but the footage, the music, the slow-mos and the drone shots! The Hero6 is just a dream come true for surfers. I still remember that interview of the founder where GoPro started with film cameras that he can strap to his wrists while he surfs.
Every time I here this story Martin I get goosebumps. And there's people who get excited over finding a parking spot in southern California. Thank you

For the record, one palm isn't in the Mentawais and it is a very shallow and dangerous wave.

For the sake of historical correctness the first time Martin went to Panaitan [ Later to become One Palm Point ] was in April 1983 on the ' Raider ' owned by Dave Barnett and jointly chartered by Martin, Roscoe, Chitty, Dave Wylie & myself [ Robert Wilson ] The vessel was later renamed ' Indies Trader ' once Martin purchased her. Unbeknownst to us at the time it was actually too small to safely surf on that day at about 3 - 4 ft but a few of us gave it a go and we all got a few cuts, Martin wisely stayed on the boat .. I believe Martin soon went back and surfed it after a more thorough check of the set up ...

Does anyone believe that this captain doesn't have charts with all of his secret spots marked? Surely they can be tallied. Those charts would be like treasure maps.
