I'm over here taking notes like Im going to cook these dwl
saame but her dishes look so healthy and delicious. supermarkets in my area don‘t even have some of the ingredients but i really wanna try some of these recipes

BTS CRAZE its pickled and when you put an egg yolk on hot rice it cooks it. Which gives the rice is lovely golden colour and a almost creamy flavour

Just like the judges said, I feel like I could actually make her dishes at home. It’s not too intimidating and yet it looks so delicious! (Except I probably can’t eat the raw eggs...American eggs are not safe 😔)
American eggs are safe, it’s fine to eat pasteurized eggs but it’s not recommended because the risk of salmonella can’t be completely eliminated in uncooked eggs.
i’m sure egg yolks are fine to eat raw but egg whites should never be eaten raw
I eat them raw quite often; just make sure to not let the insides of the egg touch the outside of the egg. That's probably the most hazardous part to it other than your eating utensils.
I've had salmonella from eggs once, I'll never eat them raw it doesn't matter which country I'm in or they come from

I really want the recipe to make the soy sauce, it looks so good!
All-Purpose Soy Sauce Recipe
1. Create the broth (recipe of broth below, cook time isn’t specified)
2. Strain the broth
3. Add 6:4 ratio of broth:soy sauce into a pot with the fire on
4. Add 1 paper cup cheongju (aka refined rice wine) (equivalent to roughly 180ml~195ml or 6.5 oz).
5. Add Yujacheong (citron preserve) according to your preference of how sweet you want the sauce. You can add sugar or oligosaccharide instead.
6. Add grilled green onions and onions (I think she used 2-3 green onions and 1 onion)
7. Add juice of half a lemon and some zest of the lemon
8. Add a handful of dried bonito (aka katsuobushi) in a strainer to the sauce and remove after 2-3 minutes.
9. Strain the contents and store the all purpose soy sauce.
Broth recipe
- “One fist” (probably just a handful) dried anchovies
- “Half fist” dried southern rough shrimp
- 3 green onion roots
- 1 onion
- 1 large green onion (aka dae-pa)
- 1/3 white radish (aka daikon)
- 2 tablespoon dried shiitake mushroom
- 10 sheets of 5cmx5cm kelp (aka dashima or kombu)

when she said pickled eggs I thought for a second she was gonna do them like we do in the south US, when I was growing up my dad would take me to an old country store and they always had a jar of pickled eggs on the counter
It is actually not advisable to eat raw eggs but even when I'm cooking muself, I'll have a taste of the eggs to make sure the seasoning is right. Just a tiny bit, almost smaller than a pinch. For the time beings I'm still alive 😅
Pasturised eggs are usually fine. Japan eggs are pretty safe to eat raw, can't say the same for Korea but I'd think it's pasturised generally.
I think the US are one of very few countries using unpasteurized eggs, which is why they can't eat them raw. Most other places it's fine.

As a Japanese growing up in the us I ate raw eggs all the time and was fine lol. But yes, probably best to follow safety recommendations.
Also technically not raw, it's salted using soy sauce so it is 'cooked'. Kinda like how some types of sausages or ham are just salted and dried instead of being cooked with heat.

@@rivertothemoon yes, i think it's a month before. But after this egg challenge, it would be filmed either in February or march, which when the outbreak became uncontrollable.

Wow I didn’t know Koreans made these types of egg dishes too (these are staples in the Japanese diet). I loooooove korean food (my favorite cuisine In the world by far) but her dishes have a distinctly Japanese feel to them, I dunno. I haven’t tried the pickled egg yolk with rice with the addition of butter, and it seems too much since yolk is already so rich but I should try it before I judge.

Yes it's normal, it's really delicious.
It depends on the country. Make sure you get pasteurized eggs. Eggs in the US are not meant to be eaten raw while countries that like to eat eggs raw (like japan and south korea) purposely produce eggs that you can eat raw

You can eat those banchans for almost a week or more so it's not really that much either. They eat those in little amounts with or any main dish.

but this much egg yolk... this much cholesterol... can be really bad for their health :(. Except for eggs in soy sauce, other dishes can’t be stored for long. Hopefully she cooked that for many people not just 1
Some of its were side dish, its can be stored to fridge, and eat one by one.

@@gameronna8600 Depends on your fridge and how you cook it. The lady in this video used a lot of 'fermentation'. This means her eggs were stored with a lot of salt - the soy sauce. Those can keep up to more than a month in the fridge. If you're talking about just eggs without anything - it would be advisable to eat it within 2 days to a week. Always make sure to smell them before you eat them though.
