How was the DC-3's performance changed by switching to the P&W R2000 engines? Wikipedia says the R2000s weighed about 320 pounds more each than the R1830s, increased the available power from 1200hp to 1350+hp depending on the fuel octane rating, but were only marginally larger. The added power had to give the old bird a boost in performance. It's surprising that more DC-3s and C-47s haven't been refitted with R2000s.
