This song is an excellent satire and depicts a real tragedy (it has so many layers). The "Rockstar" is basically a heart-broken guy, whose girlfriend left him. But because everyone says "you're a rockstar", he puts up a face, writes non-sensical songs, wears weird clothes, and "his pain is permanent-nent."
I think it’s the opposite. The man doesn’t care about anything. Not love. Not respecting his elders. Because he’s a rockstar. His sadness isn’t for his girlfriend leaving him but actually her taking his expensive perfume. Nothing fazes him. He’s rich and popular are his attitude is because he believes he’s the best with the background singers kinda acting as his fans saying “you’re a rockstar” and he says “yeah that’s me” showing vanity.
This is definitely a satire on your stereotypical 'Rockstar'.

Ali zafar is Pakistani but he has worked in a few Indian films. Coke studio is also pakistani but there is a separate one for india which says coke studio India. Ali zafar is an actor, singer, producer, painter and a poet. And yes he wrote this song himself.

For example, this is Coke Studio Pakistan, Jai Hind is referred to India, which I have no problem with as its their identity. BUT I STRONGLY suggest that you give artists their due respect by mentioning a country's name. Unfortunately, West has mostly associated not so good reviews about Pakistan. They deserve better through appraisal of their culture..

The first bollywood movie of Ali Zafar was "Teray Bin Laden" (means "Yours Bin Laden") yes it was a comedy movie about Osama Bin Laden. He has also done a movie with Ranveer Singh and Govinda " Kill Dill" which you should watch. I loved it. He has also done a movie with Katrina Kaif, "meray brother ki dulhan" (my brother's wife)
