Hahaha, it took me until 20 mins before I realised the thumbnail could be this rocks rather than this sucks. I was waiting for you to explain why you didn't like this. Cool video bud!
Can you read the ebook and listen to the audiobook at the same time? I was so disappointed when I realized the Kindle couldn’t do both at the same time.
Just bought mine (waiting for delivery) and decided to watch a (full) review. Great job in doing a thorough one! Interesting I got mine so I can read my books in Logos Bible software before sleep/in bed alongside my wife (as well), and taking notes during meetings at work. Glad your usage cases in this review aligned well with what I was looking for. The review (itself) was brilliant - thanks!
In terms of "specifically for taking notes" the BOOX Go 10.3 is definitely more suited for the task. That one eschews the color and glowlight layers for placing the display layer closer to the surface which improves the writing experience by reducing parallax.
Write ten to twenty pages of notes then have them transcribed as one text document. At least 6 or 8 months ago when I had a Note Air 3c the process was very awkward and not, IMHO, usable. I returned it.
I was curious about the battery life and if you have a black and white unit to compare to. With multiple pigments, I would assume that each refresh takes that much more battery power, thus a color device would be shorter bettery life in general? Or am I doing the thing that happens when assumptions are made?
No that's a good question. I can't say for sure whether it takes more battery power to refresh color screens vs black and white, but I can say that compared to reMarkable 2, the BOOX needs to charge more often. There are a lot of factors in that that might affect it though like how many apps are constantly accessing the internet, your battery saver settings, the brightness, etc. Thanks for watching!
I can't wait, I'm getting mine tomorrow! I do have the Go 10.3, it's a nice device, with no backlight, expandable storage and color. Other than that, the rest is the same. The reason I got this one is because of the added capabilities. Great Video! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
I have been using the Air Note 3 during almost six months. It is good for taking notes, drawing and reading (although darker than a black and white e- reader). You can also watch videos like this one. The problem is that browsing works badly in many pages, like e. g. do not expect to be able to book a flight (RyanAir) or use learning platforms like Teachable. Moreover there is a lot of ghosting in videos and movies, so it is not suitable for multimedia.
I think the best note taking device from Boox right now is probably the Go 10.3. Unless you really, really need a frontlight. But if you use it in well-lit environments, it's the one device that apparently provides a writing experience basically on par with the reMarkable... so I'd really be curious about your opinion on it.
Definitely would like to hear your thoughts on the Palma! Like the idea of e-ink minimalist ideas but it does a little too much where I’m not sure it’s too much or any different than an iPad with the pencil and a paper like screen cover with book and note taking apps downloaded?
Good Video Spencer ! Thanks. I have wanted to use my new IPAD for business meeting Notetaking, but I simply do not like the “feel” on glass even with a PaperLike screen saver. Hence looking at Remarkable 2 or perhaps the Boox 10.3 GO. My goal is for it to replace my paper notebook and then export, link my Notes for long term storage (P.A.R.A) would you look at this device, the 10.3 or Remarkable? - I would use the E-Notebook for Daily business meeting note-taking, journaling, and mind mapping. Goal is for it to be distraction free and simple. I have my IPAD for content and MacBook Air for everything else. I want to have 2 devices plus the IPhone but no go ….. THANKS
I’d say if you want a super focused experience, go with remarkable. There are literally no apps on it, just note taking. If you DO need apps, Boox has full access to play store. I’d personally go for 10.3 if you don’t need color 👍
It seems all Boox noteAir3c reviews are missing one important thing. The battery drainage on the Note3c compared to a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 with S-Pen is about the same, and as this is the case it actually makes an E-ink color tablet fairly pointless. The old NoteAir2 holds the battery much better so there is a gain to use it. The writing surface is more or less the only thing that might be beneficial for having the note3c. I believe many, just as I, want a tablet that will work longer than standard tablets, but this is gone with the introduction of color, an nobody, really NOBODY seems wanting to expose this very vital information; not even you...
@@SpencerScottPugh I'll bet it did, but that's not the point. The battery life on my Samsung S6 also works fine. So what's the difference? Well more or less the only reason why your NoteAir3c will have a longer battery life is simply because you use it less for other things. The whole idea with E-ink is mostly to conserve battery, as it only updates when necessary, right? By so, one would expect an E-ink tablet to be able to be on for hours when not used without draining the battery. But this is not the case. Once it's on it chews through that power like a caterpillar on your beloved basil leaves (you can really hear them munch away). So, if you are going on a trip and would take with you one unit (except your phone) that will be able to take notes, read books, send E-mails etc, what would you chose? Well, with an ordinary tablet you can also watch CZcams clips, and what not. If E-ink and OLED screens are more or less the same, and also the underlying OS, it will be quite tough sell to motivate a NoteAir3c. I have ended up running around with both the Samsung tablet, and the E-ink along with a 20'000mAh power bank, just to know I will get through the week and this was not what I had in mind when buying the NoteAir3c...
@@user-tl3jo2ns3b this is why I prefer remarkable. I don’t need or want a tablet that can do anything I need it to. I want a focused note taking device that feels like paper and long battery life. I don’t need access to email or other apps, personally. Good points, but idk that MOST people would buy a ln e-ink tablet over an iPad (or similar tablet) if they are going for the most capable device.
@@SpencerScottPugh Maybe be the first to do a CZcams video about this comparison? Someone should finally do it, and you might be the right man for the job ;-)
The heft: too heavy. That was half the reason I returned mine. The very unimpressive handwriting and transcription process was the other reason. As a tablet of sorts, it's pretty good. As a reading or writing device … I'd recommend something else.

It's a bit better to watch review video's before you order ;) Lucky the video confirmed your purchase!

Great review! Been eyeing one of these for a while. Was nice to see such an in-depth review.
Ah thanks brother! I've really been enjoying it. Looking forward to seeing how it compares to some other e-ink tablets soon as well.
It would be great to do a follow up of how you use the Bible app and take sermon notes, etc on it and how well it works for that

For sure. That was my thought at first too, but I didn't actually end up using many apps outside the note taking ones!
Are you able to create note temaplate then save as note1. Then open the re-created template then save as Note2? Thx
Yeahp!

Usando a parte de anotações é possível fazer um zoom a fim de podermos escrever alguma palavra pequena que porventura queremos?
Sim! Você pode fazer isso. Eu diria que funciona um pouco melhor do que reMarkable com esse recurso.
@@SpencerScottPugh Obrigado.
Can we you use it to annotate on the bible app?
So they just came out with an update that allows you to add notes across anything (it seems)
Did you see how either AndBible or Logos performs?
I did not sorry!
Can you review the Note air3 black and white?
I'd love to! I think next I would like to check out the new Go 10.3. We'll see what BOOX says!

What about left-handed?
What about it?
It turns upside down, so the large holding bevel is on the other side.
Hi, can you write in books using the Kobo app on this device?
Seems like it! As long as it’s in google play store
