You know Chris, my wife began watching you and it really took me a while to warm up to you because sometimes you act like such a tool, but this particular video demonstrated to me a different, more thoughtful side of you. I like that you better than the carefree scatterbrain that you normally portray. Cheers.
The channel has always just been a bit of a platform to have a giggle with and to not take things to seriously, when in all fairness a lot of hard work has been invested, its not for everyone, but thats the great thing about CZcams..plenty of free content for everyone to find what they enjoy to watch, I can only tame the monster for so long haha cheers John
Hi Chris, wishing you and Rebecca a wonderful day.
You too Penney, have a lovely weekend đ
Arenât you a clever Chrissy crobot ! Hope your week is going well ! Canât wait for the next episode !
thanks Mandy, more off a bonus vlog this week back to boaty shenanigans again Monday, have a great weekend :)
Your channel is fun, interesting and quirky as heck. I love it. You and Becca are very engaging, and all the new equipment in the world quite replace that. Keep on doing what your doing and that is just being yourselves. đđđ€â€ïž Kathy
yeah we like to keep things simple, our channel may not be for everyone, but there's plenty of other channels if people are after a professional narrowboat experience haha Thanks for your lovely comment Kathy
Hello Chris & Becca, Iâve enjoyed watching your Narrowboat journey after I stumbled across one episode a few weeks ago I rewound to the very beginning.
Itâs great that your making the best of your boat and facing the many challenges square on. Whilst youâve been filming Iâve noticed a rusty electrical block connector on the back of the boat and Iâve had the thought that if some time was invested cleaning wires / connectors from corrosion and rust that are corroded you may be able to make a few things work again. Horn, navigation lights, it would be worthwhile checking the bow thrusters electrical connections are clean and tight fitting as itâs been in a damp humid area that electrical connections dislike!
An inexpensive basic multimeter would be a great asset to check for power.
Best of luck and keep V logging ,Iâm looking forward to the next episode.
Thank you for your your great suggestions, yeah we will be investing time Into getting everything on the boat running lovely again, our Horn is out of action, along with quite a few bits, thanks for checking out our older episodes...though I do get a bit embarrassed with them but it's nice for new viewers to look back and see how we started đ
Great video as always. The way you film and both your charisma is why I watch. Yeah, I like to see narrowboats, but your channel I never miss. When you have the personality, you dont need drones and crazy equipment. Keep on doing what you doing. Your two are fun, thats all that matters!
Thanks Andrew what a lovely comment, makes it all worth it :)
Thanks for sharing Chris great info and great applications you currently use to edit your vids for the channel. Been Following your Bro's Channel Old Kev a Roo for years now. Yes . He's dreams come true he's got a Monster Truck. A new house too , Hopefully on the way. I believe . Good on all of you . Love both your channels
Thanks very much, I'm happy to do it for fun really, I wanted to create a fun vlog that covers all aspects of narrowboat life,so hopefully we capture that...we haven't really even started yet until the DIY is finished but its been fun vlogging that too ...a million subs? In my dreams đ
Wow I did not no Kevin was your brother his channel is amazing so thatâs where you get it from maybe one day you will have over a million subs I had no idea my brother has watched his channel for a long time so pleased your boat has been blacked and is now sound great vlog as usual
yeah he's the one who kept telling me to give CZcams a go, so when we got a boat what better way to try it out, its all good fun, thanks for your comment and watching the process :)
I soooo look forward to your uploads - 2 more weeks at work then Iâm off to Napton - Warwickshire for a week on the canal - canât bloody wait. I love living vicariously through your vids đđŒâ€ïž
oh wow that sounds amazing...so it looks like you have beat us well and truly to the canals,im sure you will have an amazing time, such a fun little adventure, can't wait to finally get there myself ,thanks so much :)
I always enjoy watching your vlogs! I like the quirky content, but especially your amazing editing skills. Keep it up Chris! đđ
Thanks so much Chris đ
very few narrowboaters & vanlife tubers do vlogs like this well done for showing us the warts and all on filming đgreetings from a freelance photographer & filmmaking Brit living in Bulgaria
Thanks for enjoying the video, glad it came across well , hi from the uk :)
You definitely should start using your own music Great video stay safe and dry
Thanks for the support, hopefully one day haha :)
Enjoy your videos Chris & Becca. I think your presenting is great đ
Cheers Dave catch you soon for that beer đș đ
This was super interesting! Looks pretty similar to how we roll!
Had no idea about the SD cards, we were just about to buy one so super useful to hear đź thank you!!
Oh awesome, yeah a pretty easy little set up. We like basic, and I don't think everyone always wants everything too clean and polished, we prefer grubby and messy haha đ
Excellent love watching and seeing the progress of the boat. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Gareth :)
Thatâs fantastic, your doing something right, I thought you would be using all pro type gear. Must be good editing. Very enjoyable chaps keep em coming.
Thanks Ian, hopefully keeping it basic keeps the channel feeling real which was always one of my intentions..I think that may be an excuse for blagging it haha đ
Just read John Dâs comment! Hahahahaha! But yea. This was super interesting. And I agree with your mom!! USE YOUR MUSIC!! We work hard as musicians, so you might as well!
Haha thank you, I'm going to try my best đ we do work hard as musicians your absolutely right
Drones - notb sure how much the add to vlogs anymore, pretty well every bit of the network has been filmed, droned and vloged to death, the real selling point is the banter and human part..... which you both do well....
Oh Thanks Dave that's good to know, yes alot of vloggers use them, there was a time I really wanted one and maybe we will one day for fun, watch this space haha
I enjoy watching your vlogs. I don't like them too structured and this is why I think your channel is so fun to watch. You show your actual mistakes and real life challenges. You two are so down to earth. Cheers from Columbia City, Oregon USA.
hi from England , glad it comes across well and real, thanks for your lovely comment, catch you on the next one :)
Chris that was really interesting, thanks. Iâve thought of doing a CZcams vlog for fun but I lead a boring existence. At 73 thereâs no sky diving, African safariâs, crocodile hunting etc and no one wants to watch me mow the lawn, clean the house or doing my shopping, though I donât understand why they donât as at 73 itâs a big day if you wake up. LOL. No joking Iâm thankfully a healthy 73. Question. How do you download off your Apple as they donât have a card? Thanks for this and thanks for your hard work just to entertain us, Iâve said it before youâre amazing getting so many vlogs a week out. Stay safe guys and see you soon. đ
Thank you Pauline, im sure there would be plenty of people interested in what you have to vlog about, the main thing is just having fun with it, which is why we do it, thankfully most people seam to enjoy it, what do you mean download of my apple? do you mean the mobile phone? if so I plugged it into my laptop and took the videos off it that way, if you mean the lap top..I have an adaptor which allows you to plug in sd cards and usb sticks, hope this helps see you soon :)
@@TheNomadicCrobot. OK Iâll have to look into taking videos off my iPhone. Iâve got some great videos of our holiday in theUK on a narrowboat.
Oh amazing, yes I used to plug my iPhone into my laptop and used a program to export the videos, once you know how it's done it's quite straight forward ,maybe this link will help

@@TheNomadicCrobot Thanks Chris, thanks heaps.
Have bought SD cards for 10 yrs off eBay none of the ScanDisk, PNY, Sony & Kingston have failed but if one did there are local sellers who would trade them for new - Never buy the off brands or ones not sold locally plus make sure the load speed is more than what you need for extra safety
yes I used to buy them from eBay before being warned that a lot of the big branded ones are fake, they still work, there probably just not as well made so I avoid them now, thanks for your comment :)
Top tip you know the boards you stand on get a length of hosepipe split it and push on to the metal youâre boards sit on youâll be suprised
Oh really?? Woaw will have to give that go, many thanks, every little helps đ đ
@@TheNomadicCrobot stops vibration and a d sit camera on. Neoprene eBay che
Yes you should use your own music and the engine noise would a radio Mike help!
I have played with the idea of the radio mics...I nearly actually got a few once, but its just a bit more messing around, maybe one day, thanks...im going to try extra hard to include some some haha :)
I use an apeman camera, like a gopro but another cheaper and it connects to my Samsung phone. I enjoy your vlogs, you and Bec are entertaining.
oh awesome , that sounds like a great idea, thank you :)
I love the 360 camera. Great vlog â€ïž
We love the 360 too it's a great bit of kit, thank you đ
Does Kev ever help with filming? Shocked he hasn't built a rc narrowboat!
Haha maybe one day, no me and kev both film our stuff ourselves, thanks for your comment đ đ
@@TheNomadicCrobot thanks for the content and great channel!
Sounds about like my book. Four copies sold! Almost enough residuals to pay for one proof paperback copy (without postage). (To be fair, I haven't marketed it much yet - kindle kind of pulled the trigger before I was ready).
oh wow that sounds fun, what's the name of the book?? these things take time so stick in there :)
@@TheNomadicCrobot "Green Hills and Daffodils" - there is a narrowboat, but it features more prominently in the second book... and it was written before we found out about your priest (and I had to change the names of the people he bought it from, because they were originally Davy and Beca! Lol!) Urgh... I'm finding out why they put in the "pure coincidence" disclaimers at the front... sometimes you get it "too right" on a hunch/guess.
Really interesting, thanks for the pricing as well. Donât know where you find the time for everything. đ
Thank you, yes it's quite time consuming but iv managed 2 a week for the last month so hoping I can keep it up đ
That was fun to learn your process. Had no idea it took so long to edit. I really enjoy your efforts! Thanks for sharing, D
Thanks for watching, I suppose that's at an extreme, I have managed to push them out a bit quicker but it is quite a long process for me , catch you Monday for a more narrowboaty vlog đ
Hi you 2, it's absolutely a thrill to watch your videos, it really is, thank you very much for all the fun and also the technical little things. Well done. I wish you all the best from Belgium. Byeeeeee
Hi from the UK, Thanks for the support, slightly different video today, back to normal again on Monday , cheers :)
@@TheNomadicCrobot I am astonished at the price u paid for a microSD card 128Gb ! Here we just bought one from a major chain for 27⏠about 23,5ÂŁ ! Let us know if you need another one. We left England in 1985, it looks as if things have gone up a lot since then and of course there is good all Brexit to take into account ! See you, cheers! đââïž
Enjoying your vlogs and your tenacity in approach to that bloody leak.
Can I request you warn the viewers that cloths used for Danish oil can self ignite when dry. Dispose of very carefully.
Thanks Andy yes Becca did say that will try to warn views in the future
Nice one Chris, very interesting mateđđ
Thanks John :)
I've often thought how good your editing is and I know how long it takes, people don't realise.
yeah it can be quite a long process at times, Thanks very much :)
Always wondered how you put vlogs together. Deffo think you should use your own music. You never know what it could lead to. Got to be better than half the tosh they play on the radio these day's.
haha id love to use it but always get a a bit weirded out by it, maybe in the next few vlogs ill try it a bit more, thanks for you comment, watch this space :)
Hi both, been following you for quite a while and enjoyed every upload. Keep them coming.
Chris, start using your music please đđ
Cheers Neil
That's great to hear Neil, thanks for the support, I will try and build up the courage and include some haha đ
@@TheNomadicCrobot Chris , both your music and Becs and your singing is great! (Is that post beer though) love the vlog. I live on the bank of the Mon and Brec, been thinking about a boat for a while. No water in the canal in Newport at the moment so would have to move upstream a bit. I would have to give up my workshop then, so no lathe, milling machine or welding after that.
Oh brilliant good luck with your boaty adventure, we've loved every minute and we haven't even started yet
That made a nice change didn't it - Who knew? - A bit of a Songster EH?? ... I think You'll overwhem Yourself!! (and as importantly - US!!) if You go longer or More Frequent with Your Vlogs - LESS is almost Always MORE! ... Bung a few affiliate products in if it's the Money You're after ..... A lot of the other More Successful Vloggers do a couple a week + a few products and go from strength - to - Strength ...... Good Luck đ
Thanks for your advice, yes i want to try really for at least 3 12minute videos a week if I can do it, with all the DIY and job i have it's just been hard, but once its done I should have more time
You both are amazing keep up the hard work you both make my day when you upload a video
Thank you what a lovely comment đ
@@TheNomadicCrobot no need to say thanks you make my depression settle down when you upload a video I lost my 3 years old daughter in June this year I struggle everyday to keep strong you make me smile and lough thanks for everything you do for making everyone day better one
Another tip with SD cards is buy the micro SD cards and use a standard SD card converter. It works well with my Nikon D7500 digital SLR and that record 4K
Love the channel subbed a few days ago, Moored on the Oxford canal but looking to move to the Ouse or surrounding area next yearđ
This video explains better

oh wow awesome, hope your enjoying your adventure, will be heading towards the canals soon hopefully, that was always the dream, thanks for the tip...does that work out a bit cheaper???
@@TheNomadicCrobot Think they've equalled out a bit price wise but I had a spare micro sd card from an old dash cam tried it and it worked, being a tight twat I carried on using itđ€Łđ
Brilliant really interesting. Must admit Iâm looking to upgrade editing suites so will take a look at Final Cut Pro. Great vlog. Love the 360. Brilliant idea. Best wishes
its a great little program, fairy cheap, but you need a Apple Mac...there not as cheap, and a fairly good one for the program to run too, thanks for watching ,the 360 looks like its going to be great fun...will have to try not get to carried away with it haha
Becca, Chris, its always a pleasure watching your videos. I create CZcams videos myself, as you said, it can take all day to edit a Video Vlog. Great Video and very interesting guys. Take Care.
Oh woaw that's brilliant, hope your havi g fun with your channel,it really can take a long time, but its worth it đ đ take care
Now I was speechless! đ
haha hopefully in a good way Rolf :)

Thanks
Thank you so much Nick for the support it really does help the channel, hope you have had a good bank holiday weekend x
Hi another good vlog sad to say that I would love to make video's but I've added up the cost of the equipment you use using the second-hand phone and it adds up to ÂŁ3699 you said it was cheap but that price is over six months of my old age pension so not cheap to people like myself. The best way to quieten down your engine is to fit a hospital silencer people often ask me if my boat is electric when I go past them.
oh sorry I dont think I did say it was cheap, though it can be done for a lot cheaper than what I have spent, mine is just a very basic setup, though its decent equipment, a lot of mobile phones these days are good enough to film on, also if you own a computer you can probably pick up some video editing software fairly cheap ...some computers even come with the software , and thats all you need really, hope this helps , oh wow thanks for the silencer advice ill have a look into it :)
every time I was your content I couldn't help but admire that wide beam....on another note by any chance does your music have been influenced in any way by B52 works I have listen to a couple of your songs and the instrument has me thinking of the B52's.....lol
Yes the wide beam is absolutely lovely, there just having it fitted out too, bo sorry I've never heard much B52s will have to take a listen thank you đ
Love your channel guys!! im born and bred Eaton-socon :)
