And no, most physicists do not believe in many worlds. If I may quote physicist Matt O’Dowd, many worlds is like “trying to build a new house to not do the dishes”. We know that the Copenhagen interpretation is correct; it matches all observations. However, many worlds is just saying “Quantum Physics is very weird, so I don’t believe in it, and I’m gonna make a hypothesis where the wave function is not a real wave but most of the future alternative universes of a particle hitting x=4”. See how ridiculous that is? Many worlds is false. No evidence for it, lots of evidence against it. That debunks your claim. Have a nice day.

So what we don’t have a unified field theory yet? That doesn’t make all hypotheses “on the table”. Quantum interactions happen the way they do because it’s a PROPERTY of that quantum object/system. Unified field theory is just an equation that describes EVERYTHING regarding how properties interact, not the properties themselves. (charge, particle wave duality, have spin).

So seeing the FULL interview, it wasn’t as bad as it looked with just getting 30 sec sound bites. He did talk (although DEFINITELY not in the most eloquent way) about prison reform, eliminating stop and frisk in Chi, problems with the 13th amendment, etc. Although I respectfully disagree with some things he said that misrepresented black people (particularly regarding welfare). But he’s just speaking like a right leaning moderate. Our ancestors fought and died for us to have freedom of speech, so I honestly can’t get mad at him for speaking his mind. In fact, I’m proud of him. And this is coming from someone on the far left. Having difference of opinion is what makes us great.
