Many Congratulations!! I'm a proud owner of a brand new 2016 Gypsy King and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. Just a friendly word of caution; please don't engage low range (4H or 4L) on a paved surface or it will bind your transmission. It is to be engaged only when the vehicle is on a slippery surface and more traction/torque is required. The vehicle needs to come to a complete standstill before you can engage 4L. Enjoy the drive..
On any day I will die for a Harvest Green color Gypsy soft top . ( you can see the military ones waiting in Railway junctions to pick up personnel) I will go for a Gypsy rather than for a Ferrari or Lamborghini ! Good Buy and nice presentation. When the dealership gave the photo framed, my eyes swelled ! What a vehicle!

Gypsy can go to toughest roads (or no road!!) In himalayas, can cross bamboo made narrow bridges on rivers, can run on black ice covered roads, in deserts, deep forest etc etc etc. without any trouble. Its not for gariahat puja shopping. This gypsy has a purpose...look? 10 on 10, utility? 10 on 10, personality? 10 on 10, maneuverability? 10 on 10. ..happy and safe driving.
Even as I am not capable of taking a new one, I am going to take a 2007 mg413 green from Hariyana. But god knows whether I will be able to register it in kolkata😨

Good video and thanks for making. Got a used MPFI 2003 model for my dad for use in Sandy Rajasthan. It moves through sand without even the need for 4x4 smoothly(Note: I have not removed the 4X4 front drive shaft as many people do). Basic as it gets( I have a soft top) plus vv low maintenance as everyone knows. Can carry 8 people(including driver) plus is great for farm usage also. One thing on my next to do's is getting a ladder step made as with highest ground clearance it is hard for older people to climb on top.

Feeling Nostalgic, I had Gypsy Soft top when I was in class 12th, my dad gifted for getting Good marks in Class 10th but had to wait 2 years as the valid age for a driving licence is 18. I have one regret when I sold it after some time I realised that I never ever stand on it(behind the middle bar) and feel the air blowing because it was I who always drove it. And I have only one picture of it because at that time (2005) Facebook was not there and I also joined Facebook quite late so never thought of taking pictures. I still remember people asking me about the mileage. I used to say "10 ka hai local mai aur highway 12 ka" Tab petrol bhi proportionally sasta tha. One question; Hard Top kyun li ? why not soft top. Aur haan Mileage pai bahut sawal aane wale hai bhai so brace yourself. haha
if they add little more comfort and features then would definitely go for this. Gypsy is an all time classic for off roaders and people who belongs to defense forces . i myself rode station's jongas gypsies so many times during my childhood ,, An olive colored gypsy is still a head turner .
Great!! try and see if you can transform it into a feasible convertible.. see some of the cars by DC, just to get a vague idea even, to what you can do with your Gypsy.. The reason I say this, is because the car is relatively new, getting full value of the engine experience, added with the modified features, will give you the ultimate experience

But the heart doesn’t accept to ignore the beauty of Gypsy. Also, the extra 3 lakhs being paid for Thar can be used to modify the Gypsy for the comfort.

Sir in my opinion soft top is more outstanding look in comparison to hard top and sir plz do some modification its adds new beauty and charm to this car sir.I also wanted to buy this car but the dealers here told me its out of production so i have to buy a older one but however its a great experience of driving congrats sir for ur gypsey king.

Claroy Mathias.. Hi Claroy.. AC will be effective, if the soft top is perfectly fitted and there shouldn't be any gap to allow the cool air to pass out and hot air to enter. Moreover, the soft top cover will not be able to resist the heat from outside like it is possible in hard top by laying the heat insulator on top. My suggestion would be to go for AC then layout heat insulator where the portion is Hard top and later if you find that the soft top area is not that effective try applying double layer in that soft area to resist the heat from outside coming in. If you go for Sanden AC the effect is chilling and you will get the desired comfort by default, if you increase the fan speed to 2 or else 3 with AC on. Do let me know if you need some more info..

Please answer 1) Are you facing over heating issue after ac installed? 2) since there are rumors that maruti stopped taking any booking after Dec 18 as they aren't ready to update the vehicle and ABS and air bags will be mandatory in 19. I have already placed an order for soft too and getting in mid February. Is it something that this car gonna face in near future?
Bro.. Regarding your first point :- Gypsy's fan is attached to the Engine directly, hence with the low rpm of engine the fan rotates at low speed, hence the engine gets heated which I have noticed, hence for this I have placed a big size aux fan which has taken care of heating issue. Have checked today Gypsy is still listed in Maruti's website, hence available so we are not required to worry. Car is not going to face any issue as the parts are easily available in local market and even you can buy the parts online.. For any further info do let me know brother. It's really a nice presentation, I saw this video the first time used to think it would be a technical advice type of video but, it really came out great, with nice editing and presentation...It is always a great idea to think a bit differently and you know Maruti is a brand. I do believe you are having a good time with the car.
If you are going off road or any type of challenging road then there is no other vehicle better then gypsy but in case of living in a cities specially like Delhi Mumbai, which has a hot climate then without Ac it will be like in hell....

This is for true off roaders, not for softies. Real off road guys don't need A/C or other comforts.
Make some modifications from time to time, and you will get value.. begin with the AC and GPS tracking system

Sir in my opinion soft top is more outstanding look in comparison to hard top and sir plz do some modification its adds new beauty and charm to this car sir.I also wanted to buy this car but the dealers here told me its out of production so i have to buy a older one but however its a great experience of driving congrats sir for ur gypsey king.

Hi Claroy..
AC will be effective, if the soft top is perfectly fitted and there shouldn't be any gap to allow the cool air to pass out and hot air to enter. Moreover, the soft top cover will not be able to resist the heat from outside like it is possible in hard top by laying the heat insulator on top.
My suggestion would be to go for AC then layout heat insulator where the portion is Hard top and later if you find that the soft top area is not that effective try applying double layer in that soft area to resist the heat from outside coming in.
If you go for Sanden AC the effect is chilling and you will get the desired comfort by default, if you increase the fan speed to 2 or else 3 with AC on.
Do let me know if you need some more info..

I have 2 questions! Please answer
1) Are you facing over heating issue after ac installed?
2) since there are rumors that maruti stopped taking any booking after Dec 18 as they aren't ready to update the vehicle and ABS and air bags will be mandatory in 19. I have already placed an order for soft too and getting in mid February. Is it something that this car gonna face in near future?

Regarding your first point :- Gypsy's fan is attached to the Engine directly, hence with the low rpm of engine the fan rotates at low speed, hence the engine gets heated which I have noticed, hence for this I have placed a big size aux fan which has taken care of heating issue.
Have checked today Gypsy is still listed in Maruti's website, hence available so we are not required to worry. Car is not going to face any issue as the parts are easily available in local market and even you can buy the parts online..

If you are going off road or any type of challenging road then there is no other vehicle better then gypsy but in case of living in a cities specially like Delhi Mumbai, which has a hot climate then without Ac it will be like in hell....
