Yikes. I suggest you research polycythemia vera. As someone with family who has that, it is basically a type of chronic leukemia, and is categorized as a cancer. It can be very painful and fatal if left untreated. Hopefully you consult with an actual MD or DO, and not an BSN/RN if you or someone you know suffers from this. That being said, it is very treatable if managed properly... and I do feel that Boogie used it for sympathy and made it sound worse than it is.
As a overweight socially awkward person, there was a time I looked up to Boogie. I saw someone who had a lot of the same shortcomings as myself putting himself out there and making it work. The difference is that I grew up, I got better, and I don't blame anyone but myself for my issues. A lot of us can relate to cancer, whether it’s ourselves, friends, or family. Cancer is a scary and terrible thing to deal with. I have a cousin who had testicular cancer, and an aunt currently in stage 4 metastatic melanoma. This is a serious low for Boogie and I don’t think he’ll ever recover his reputation from this.
