    When you started talking to your shadow I knew I was in for a wonderful travelogue, and I wasn’t wrong. Good ride and good video; gave me the sense of being on a trike and of the scenery and weather and of your personality. Well done.

    Wow! Nice job! That looks like a seriously LONG haul. And you did it on a fully loaded trike. Very impressive sir.

    I just stumbled across your epic ride across the Nullarbor, well done mate.
    I went as part of a working holiday in a beat up old 4wd around Australia about 30 ish years ago , the Nullarbor was a favourite part of my trip , and camping on the Nullarbor waking up in the morning and hearing just dead quiet was such a nice break from constant noise you get living in the big smoke( Melbourne).
    I'd love to have a shot at going as you did on a trike , I have put it on my bucket list 😀.
    hope you are well and still adventuring 🏕 .

    Jealous am I.. :) I'm planning a transcontinental tour of the USA... From Seattle to Washington DC... They paved over the old (no longer used) railroad... called: Rails-to-Trails.. Many people are setting up bike camp sites, Bed & Breakfast, warm showers all along the way.

    Awesome video and an awesome trip! The drone footage of the cliffs was breathtaking. That cop giving you a hard time was a jerk. He could have offered help or advice instead of being the helmet Gestapo in the middle of nowhere. I dream of having long open roads like that to ride, but I will admit the Aussie creepy crawlies have me a bit worried. Did you have any nature encounters, apart from the Dingo? I got paced by a coyote near LEadville, CO. Back in RSA I worked at a game lodge as a pilot; went mountain biking a lot and saw rhino, giraffe, waterbuck and lions. Would love to see a periodic maintenance update on how the trike is holding up, what broke, what didn't and how your gear selection works or could be improved. Don't stop pedalling, or he world may stop turning, ride safe.

      Thanks for the comments. I've not had any creepy crawly issues, but have seen possum, camel, kangaroo, wombat, tons of beautiful birds!! Thanks for watching

    I crossed the Nullarbor when I went around Australia way back in 2009..I did it from Ceduna to Norseman...and it was in summer....I went through the Northern part in winter...it was every day waaaay over 40degrees...This year the plan is to do it from Norseman to Ceduna....in April...the plan is to be in Allice Springs by the 9th of June...to enjoy the Finke desert race...my total distance will be between 7 600 and 8 000km.For the first time I will also use a Ice Adventure2 Recumbent trike.I fitted a Slumph Drive in front and a Rholoff Hub at the back.I will start and finish in Newman WA.Prepare for the worst ... hope for the best !!! Wish me luck !!

      My plan was to do the Pan American Highway on a Ice Adventure2...I fitted a Slumph Drive in the front and a Rholoff Hub at the back.Every thing was orginised for 2020...allready bought the flight tickets...then covid came....and all my plans fell through.My plant is to my first trip with the trike this year.I will use a Burley Nomad trailer behind the trike.I love trailers....I just feel much more orginised with a trailer...When I cycled around Australia I buildt a trailer with a watertank...took 24lt of water....nice to talk to you.

    If South Australia covered the whole southern part of Australia, it would be called Southern Australia but it only occupies the central part so it's South Australia. Makes perfect sense!

    I see a pole with lights on the back. What is it called and where did you buy it?

    • @EveryWhichWayButLost
      @EveryWhichWayButLost  Před rokem +1

      It was home made. I bought a 5v Led strip light that runs of USB. Really cheap. Then used an old antenna and wrapped it around. Ran it off a USB battery bank.

  • @longrider42
    @longrider42 Před 3 lety

    Another quick question. How did you make your LED light pole. I need one of those.

    • @EveryWhichWayButLost
      @EveryWhichWayButLost  Před 3 lety +1

      I bought a 3metre led USB (5v) light strip that works off USB battery. They are normally used for lighting effects behind TV. It has adhesive backing. Wrapped it around 2 tent poles and then covered in clear silicon

    How many tyres would you go through on a trip like this? I’m so impressed that you’ve taken on such a long haul. Would it be better with two or more people or are you like me and like your own company.

    • @EveryWhichWayButLost
      @EveryWhichWayButLost  Před 3 lety +1

      I average about 13,000km per set of marathon plus tyres. I really enjoyed cycling with people, especially sharing experiences, but felt more free when cycling alone. Choices and decisions are easier. And I meet many people along the way that either become firm friends or just help me along my way

    Wow through the Nullarbor. Is this a side by side to railway line? How did you manage supply, such as water? These light in front and rear are great. Did you get this in Australia or somewhere else?

    • @EveryWhichWayButLost
      @EveryWhichWayButLost  Před 3 lety

      Hi, bought it in Europe, but you can get them in Australia too, look up Greenspeed or Ray's Trikes in Adelaide / Facebook. The furthest I had to cycle without water resupply was only 200km and I did it in 2 days so could carry enough water easily. Railway line is alot more inland.

      I like to keep things very simple. Otherwise you get bogged down with burdens that take away from your enjoyment of your tour.
      I hope you respond to my question and give me some details about phone video recording/editing.
