    My 2015 does 235 KPH or 145 MPH. That 6th gear really gives it a great top end or conserve fuel running the highways at 130 KPH. It does get there really quickly and just loves to lay down into the corners. It is a great touring bike.
    I have been all over the USA and Canada with it.

    • @mototop_
      @mototop_  Před 4 lety

      oh great! Yes it's rally nice to ride. But don't you have a little bit waving of the bike at high speeds?

    • @2009mechanic
      @2009mechanic Před 4 lety +3

      @@mototop_ No , not if you set it up right.
      The 2015 Versys 1000 has a much different design of windscreen thatn the newer models do.
      Push the rear suspension up like you were going to set it up for a rider.
      Puts more weight and down force on the front.
      Also keep the windscreen at its lowest height and duck your face way up behind it so the high speed wind doesn't catch you.
      If you don't do this , the shape of the windscreen and fairing tends to LIFT the front end a bit and lighten it up too much to get good steering and stability.
      It would feel just like that at low speeds if you put a lot of weight on the rear luggage rack.
      Picks up the front so bad it's a bitch to keep it strait even at low speeds.
      I've tried this.
      I stacked 4 front brake rotors from my pickup truck way back there for ballast just to see what it does.
      I also needed to get them machined at the auto parts store.
      The rear suspension is adjustable ; use it.
      Since this bike is a medium sized touring bike at #550 empty , it is really fussy on the front to rear weight balance.

      Yes it can.

      Picks the front right up without much effort at all.
