Nice review Peter, you did well and you convinced me to pick this one up. I love watching Mike's reviews and now I'll be sure to watch yours as well. Keep up the great work and the 5 in 5 system, I love it!
Glad it was helpful!
Thx for the review. Edge of darkness did a cube tower sending cubes to differnet spaces a while ago and it works well in my opinion for that game. Have to wait and see for this game I preordered some time ago :-)
That's right! We still haven't had the chance to play Edge of Darkness, but we've heard good things.
You look and sound different Mike!
Still the same excellent quality of review. 😉
Nice loop the loop of The Loop there too, Pete! lol
HAHAHA, we looped the loop in your loop so you can loop while you're looping
Nice review! I picked it up at Origins, I hadn't realized yall were there too! From what I've played it feels a bit like Arkham but with really great deck building and a super cool Loop mechanic. I haven't played solo yet, but I thought it seemed great from the rulebook and it looks like I was right! I'll have to give it a shot.
I think you will enjoy solo. Really cool mechanic to make you feel like multiple characters but without fiddly management
Got this in my cart right now
I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it!
Thanks for the great review. Nice to know that the Solo mode is a good mode that's different than just multi-handed solo. What size coin capsules did you use for the round tokens?
The play footage is from Colin’s playthrough on the channel. I’d comment there and ask about the coin capsule size
Thought this one was going to get me into a coop game for once, but the player turn puzzle didn't keep my attention after my first couple games on Tabletopia.
It’s stayed fresh and interesting after 10+ plays for us. Sorry it didn’t work too well for you!
Really great game that seems to be flying under the radar a bit. I think it’s now my favorite gateway co-op - it’s really easy to teach and has a fun theme, but is puzzly enough to be satisfying for an experienced gamer. It even does feel a bit like a very light version of Spirit Island, with the pushing/pulling of clones and partial predictability of where Faux is going to act as you get further on in his deck.
I think it is only just now becoming widely available in the US, so hopefully that helps!
Availability has really hindered the success for this game. I put it on top of my buy list exactly a year ago when first reviews hit CZcams but English version has not been and is still not available in EU. It's been a year and we have no news as to when it might hit retail here.
You sold me.
Awesome :)
One of my favorite games of the year. I describe it at Spirit Island lite. :p
Peter and I were just discussing that for the podcast this Sunday. The puzzliness of playing out your cards can feel similar :)
Very interesting.... so great to another person than Mike do this. Not that I dislike Mike (he is one of my Faves) but I do think it's good to get a balanced crew of reviewers... so please guys... feel free to mix it more (if Mike doesn't mind)
One last thing... is.... is..... is that an empty space on a shelf? How's that possible?
I hope we get more like this, and Peter is certainly game. - Mike
