- Truck Junkie Holland kindly funded a trip for me to go to Ciney truck show in Belgium. Which is named the temple of truck shows. Only the best trucks make it to Ciney and on to the red carpet!
It’s a show I’ve always wanted to do and I’m so grateful to Truckjunkie for giving me the experience
I seen some awesome trucks and met some great people including Trucker Tim who I met for the first time

I'm just thinking about all the old boys who chugged up n down the A roads, in their Fodens and Scammells, what they would make of these modern day waggons.
I started in 96 driving a ERF E Series manufactured in 89, The job has been totally de skilled to the point you climb in and select D.

Dad drove a 1970 MAN 16.232 12 speed columbn change so different to today's trucks.
Drive a Xg 530 at work ,but having driven Fodens ,Erf's and Scammells for Carter's over the years, give me a Foden or a Scammell any day .
@@-DC-yeah it steers itself, mental dexterity for all the paperwork, not to say the volume and performance of other traffic and nutcases on th roads.

Very cool....used to do Europe from.Ireland in the late.80 s and.90s
Used to like being in Belgium and Holland.... Lokeren Tank Wash and truckstop was a regular stop for us then. Good food and facilities
You guys have nice trucks nowdays compared to what tramped all over Europe back then. DAF 33OO was my first truck going to Europe back in 1987
Been living in the USA.since 2003 and still driving. An owner operator here, but really amazed at the quality of the trucks thats used nowdays in Ireland and the UK

Even back in the late 80s i akways admired the Dutch and Scandanvian trucks. Always top plant and well kept
Irish and UK truck s have came a long way in last 20 yrs since i left

The Mexicano was one of my favourites. Perhaps, drive over there next time, not against the clock, so much? Lots of genuine bikers are genuine trucker friendly and Vice Versa. During a road trip with a trucker and others, on motorbikes. He was even guiding the foreign trucks at fuel stations when they parked up. Like biking, trucking can be an international one big family.
Awesomness descibes this video and the truckers attention to detail in their presenting their trucks.

I will always remember going to my first truck show with my dad in the 70's.... Scammels and Leyland's... Loved them all..... And i ended up working at the same truck dealership, 10 years later, that hosted the show... Another great vlog Jemma...

Love that you went to Belgium. We used to live in Antwerp. Belgium totally depends on roads & the trucks that use them, many of which are only passing through. Driving between antwerp & Paris as i did weekly got to respect all road users.
Ken with the music truck is such a humble and nice person! Met him at a few shows here in Sweden and yeah, Always with a smile on his face and always very nice!

If you ever get chance go to Mechelenin in Belgium. It’s between Brussels and Antwerp. It’s a lovely place, similar to Bruges but not as touristy.

Excellent thank you for taking us all along, love the skirt 😉, the 142 really sticks out as we had one when I was an apprentice technician, we ran it as our MOT shunter that ferried the trailers to/from test station, glad you had a ball, now get back to work 😂😂
