How House Of the Dragon COMPLETELY Outmatched Rings Of Power

- Took some time buy here's my take on how House of the Dragon without a doubt Outclassed Rings of Power by simply delivering a good product and not berating the fan's opinion.
Doing less and accomplishing way more to even turn around the most skeptics fans that though the franchise was dead, since Game Of Thrones Season 8.
And Rings of Power will soon ,probably, gonna be just a forgettable failure that will be use a lesson on what not to do with adaptations. Amazon is gonna have to come out with a miracle, or just give Peter Jackson a call lol

In Rings of power I forgot there was still another episode. In House of Dragons I forgot it ended in episode 10.
I agree, HoTD and RoP are not even on the same level of writing it is actually funny to witness. It is like comparing a dissertation to a high school paper
One thing i liked about the Velarion's being black, is that it made Rhaenyra infidelity more evident and outrageous.

I can't express how happy HOTD made me after the utter disappointment of GoT season 8. Made me start my channel finally... BTW the car crashing the melon Oberyn joke xD

Nah! S8 is just so disappointing .
It almost crushed my love for the Martin's world. HotD revived it and make me rewatch got.
Though ROP does the same thing but not because i liked it but because i want to forget ROP. also want to be reminded that why Tolkien's work is famous.
Because the writers loved HOTD. The writers for Ring loved themselves.
It's really ironic, and a tale of opposites.
I absolutely loved GOT up until the last few seasons. But then came season 8... I was so pissed off (trying to keep it clean) at the direction the show (writing) went. I was totally DONE with anything Game of Thrones! I felt like my GF was cheating on me. I felt violated.
Lord Of The Rings, I equally loved, I even enjoyed The Hobbit... mostly. I couldn't wait for the next installment of Tolkien's works to hit the screen. Then, I heard about Amazon taking up the challenge, and I was totally on board!!! Rings of Power... Hell yeah! Go Bezos!
Fast forward to today. Keeping it short because we all know the who, what, and why's... Rings of Power is dead to me.
And I can't wait for season 2 of House Of The Dragon. Yes, there is a sprinkle of identity politics, but it was done with finesse, it feels organic, and it makes sense. So I don't have an issue with it.
Make up sex is the best hey? haha yeah i'm the same. I was gutted (like Daenerys lol) with the last season of got but was pleasantly surprised with HoD. and RoP, we know how i l feel about it. Maybe this will inspire PJ will feel the need to put the directing cap once more and he'll get a nice thick budget, i mean if this guys got a bil..

The dragons in HOD had better character development! You knew exactly what Vahgar’s story was better than the stiff of an actress playing Duladriel.
Lol you're so right, i care more about Vaghar and Caraxes than i do half the characters of RoP 😂 imagine being less interesting that a cgi dragon who doesn't speak

Alicent and Rey are one of the best female characters and portrayal of a goddamn woman and a mother i saw on TV screen since old GOT died and everyone went dumb and “girl power” crept into Westeros. Also finally some men on television with actual balls and personality on their own instead of just being an annoying shadow to female leaders. My entire household simps for Daemon because he shows whole spectrum of emotions- he is brutal, he is an ass, funny, dangerous but he also has that deep love for his family that Matt showed though his acting (picking up Vizzy’s crown)

I don't think the "Queen Regent" thing is that big a blunder - a Regent is just someone who rules in place of someone else incapable or deemed incapable of ruling, normally a child but could be someone infirm or mentally incapacitated. Technically if she's the King's daughter she should be the "Princess Regent", as she's not Queen yet, bit given the huge amount of other things wrong with the show I don't think it's a biggie (George IV of Britain was Prince Regent during the last years of his father George III's reign).
Interesting facts...I mean yeah, it's not the biggest problem with this show it just feels like another attempt to have a woman in a position of power just because, that's why it's stands out to me..
Plus is like you said she's ruling as queen with her father still being alive..
She never was a regent in the lore

If Rings of Boredom was good like HOTG it would have been an interesting comparison which would have been great because we would have been blessed with 2 great shows but we were not so lucky and got 1 great show and one truly forgettable and sickening show.
There are rumors that they will re make ROP and act like this season never happened which I do not believe. Reboot all they want, I will not watch it I am done with their garbage, I might be dumb but I am not stupid. They can pay me if they want me to watch it, 🤣

As for most and least favourite part of each show..
House of the Dragon: Favourite - Paddy Fucking Considine hobbling into the throne room to defend Rhaenyra. Least favourite - the battle on the Stepstones. I thought it was too short. I wanted to see Daemon kill the Crabfeeder.
Rings of Power: Favourite - you losing your mind and punching the wall and that last shot of Sauron in the finale (just because he's slightly hot). Least favourite - the rest of the damn show.
Hahah and I'd like a full paid vacation on a boat with the models from maxim magazine, but we know that's not gonna happen 🤣
I agree, Paddy is a legend I didn't thought much of viserys at first and then almost cried when he died. Hopefully we'll see more battles next season.

Simple: House of the Dragon is based on the writing of George R. R. Martin, a writer with actual talent.
Rings of Power, on the other hand, is entirely rooted in the writing of J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, who are both incredibly mediocre writers without the barest shred of writing talent. The only bit of creativity they’ve taken from a far superior writer, J.R.R. Tolkien, are character and place names. That’s it. They haven’t used a single line of dialogue or even a smidgeon of plot developed by Tolkien.
The matchup should’ve been Martin Vs. Tolkien, which Martin would’ve lost hard. But that’s not the matchup we got. We got Martin Vs Payne/McKay, and that wasn’t a fight at all. Martin Vs. Random Pre-K3 Kid would’ve been a more serious matchup.
Hahah true, yeah that's why I didn't want to lean into the books to much, cause if we judge writing skills the 2 monkeys are way over their heads.
But I do feel HoD also did pretty good work with the other aspects of the show, which is basically comes to good producing
@@NotThatNacho Yeah, even outside of the writing and purely in the shows, we see the vast difference in competence between the two. For one, House of the Dragon was brilliantly cast and everyone in it is perfect for their role. Rings of Power, however, has possibly the most mediocre cast I’ve ever seen in any tv show. It’s breathtaking how many straight up bad actors they assembled for it to play major roles, primarily Morfydd.

Well, duh. The creator is still around to directly help. Rop relies on artists reinterpreting work of a genius and that's almost never possible to the degree die-hards will accept.

Hotd is a tiers above ROP this is beyond doubt. But it has chinks in the armor. Saying that they made House Velaryon black for the people to keep up is severely underestimating the intelligence of the audience. We gotta admit this is a box check of representatation.
HOD is undeniably better than rop but i still can't fucking stand it. It's oozing from every crack with progressive/SJW talking points it's just more subtle about it.
There's a good story in there somewhere but there's way too many wink wink nudge nudge moments in it.
Yes there's plenty of it in that regard but they do tell a waay better story, and the female characters actually come out as females and not as dickless dudes, same with the men. And I feels like GoT.
