I don't know if you covered this in another video, but I would love to see you show us other uses for the classroom checklist sheets than taking attendance of a class or grading a large class. As a homeschool mom of 2, the checklists look useful but obviously my class size is much different than the intended user! 😂
I have 4 periods to teach so my courses are planned on the right. The 3 boxes on the left I use for morning, afternoon, evening and I plan my medical appointments, errands, meetings, etc.
I use my teacher planner to track my spending and budgeting. I leave the dates along the side and I break each section into a spending category. Since there are no weekends in the weekly view I carry weekend spending over to Monday depending on category. I’ve been doing this for about a year and it works great for me. You could also charge the dates to categories and date each section for the days of the week.
A series on planning as a teacher would be supper helpful even for us none teachers that will be guiding our children through digital learning. Have a peak into what teachers do may help us parents playing teacher this school year.🙂💙💙

I work in an office and use a teacher layout planner to help me plan my work days out. I love this layout for that because it doesn’t have the weekends, and this isn’t something that I cart back and forth each day. I bring it home on weekends and make it pretty with stickers for the following week (if I feel like it), and the rest of the time I have it on my desk so I can keep my day on track. 🙂
I just bought a big teacher happy planner and I will be using it as my college planner. I love that not only is it letter size (SUPER convenient) but that it’s lined! I’m definitely a functional planner and it will work perfectly alongside my skinny classic catch all planner. Something to look forward to during this weird academic year.

Our study hall period is when we also have pep rallies, club meetings, etc. When I only had four preps I used a column for after school activities. LOVE the idea of teaching my kids how to plan!!! I am an activity assistant at a nursing home. I use a teacher planner for work. It has room for my group activities, 1:1 interactions, birthdays, other special occasions and trainings. This layout works better for me than the dashboard layout I started with.
I'm so happy that I only have 1 child and he's going to 1st grade. I'm just excited! Also I'm going to take 2 online classes cuz I'm almost done with school.

This was absolutely helpful.i asked on the Michael's class that you did how to use a color block planner for e learning with multiple kids and again i have 5 boys with 4 of them in school and the 1 treat old whois nowhome from daycare that I'm trying to incorporate teaching with his schedule...and believe me it's overwhelming.so this video actually gave great tips and tricks on how to use this planner to be productive in their school schedule.thanks so much😊😊
I couldnt find a teacher planner so i purchased a jan -dec 2020 dated BIG HAPPY PLANNER and will rewrite the dates on the months that arent used (school for my 2nd, 3rd, 5th graders starts the 31st).
In 11 years subbing I SURE relied on teachers planners Sometimes a teacher might have flu or something else long and unexpected I had to figure out how to keep the kids on track with state standards and kids in other classes Without prep time ! So am wondering why you did not leave your planner for subs
As a teacher, if I know in advance I’ll be out, a lot of times I take my planner home with me so that I can plan while I wait for my appointment or work ahead/ grade etc. I also leave more detailed notes for subs because a lot of times planners include shorthand notes that wouldn’t be meaningful to a sub. This year I’m guessing people are going to want to limit points of contact between themselves and others too.
I'm a retired teacher and I wrote in a plan book for many years. Later we moved to online and printed. But the most important thing I discovered when I was about ten years old was a little pocket assignment book. It was separated into subjects and I wrote in it faithfully. Some schools now provide a student planner and parents are supposed to sign off each day. They are expensive for the schools. Do they still make simple little assignment books?
Before this all happened.. I used the MINI horizontal planner for my classes and since I was going to school 2 days a week with 3 classes... I used washi tape down in the middle and where the days are I would cover it and on the side, I would write the subject.. and of course on the right side, I would write on what I needed to do for next week.. I hope that makes sense 💙💙💙💙

I use checklist for students competencies level. For example, 1-100 numbers, alphabets, two letter words, can do addition, substraction so on.
I use my monthly to track cycle days, paydays, special dress down days, assemblies, etc.
Can you please do a “How To Plan” student edition? My college is doing online and in person and it’s going to be busy!

Use Pilot FriXion erasable pens. They come in so many colors! Love them!
