I have this same radio from QYT, the KT-980 Plus. Not sure why mine is different, I assumed these were all made by the same Chinese company and sold to US resellers.
I want to be able to sync lines A and B on the display as you have shown, but option 32 is AUTOLK on my radio, there is no SYNC option. CHIRP doesn't show an option for it either, although I am pretty sure that is because they list the KT-980 Plus as "same as KT8900D" in their wiki page, so the actual 980 option is not in the drop down list when connecting the radio to my PC.
I really liked that feature. Here in WI many of the people I ride SxS's with are still using the Midland GXT handheld radios, and it would be nice to have both frequency and channel names displayed so I can tell them which chan or freq to tune to, depending on their radio. I know there are ways around it (V/M button if you have the settings configured for it) but it's that "at a glance" feature that made me choose this radio.
First world problems I guess.
Thanks for the review and instruction. What I am most curious about it, do you love the radio? If so, why? If not, why? Thank you.
The functionality and the quality for the price point is what brought us to liking this radio. Very happy with its performance so far.
@@LiveRogue It's a Bao-Feng the company that makes radios where you get the most features and bang for your buck over all other expensive brands.
Hi there!. I am planning to get this Btech UV50X2. What is your experience on this radio? How is it now? Please update before I place my order. Many thanks
Which is the better radio this 50 watt dual band mobile 144-148 VHF and 400-520 UHF radio or the Yaesu FT-298OR 80 watt single band radio? 144-148 VHF mobile radio with 3 year limited warranty?
That is a good question. I don't own a Yaesu so, have no way to answer your question.
@@LiveRogue How is the performance of this UV-50X2 and would a UT-72 Nagoya magnetic mount work fine with this radio without having to tune this antenna to radio?
Thinking about this radio for my jeep. How is it working this many years later? Good video
Working well and still happy with it.
So can you view only, say 2 frequencies or 1 at once if wanted? I dont want to talk on the wroung frequency
I'm having a difficult time connecting to a GMRS repeater, I have a GMRS-50X1 radio. I can hear the transmissions coming in from the repeater but when I mic up they can't hear me. I programmed the CTCSS code for the repeater and still can't figure why i'm not connecting and they can't hear me. If you could do a video on how to program the BTECH radio to a repeater that would be great :-)
How do you alpha tag the frequencys.?
Thanks . ... I'm thinking of buying one of these . do U still have this radio and if so how is it working for you now after a few months ?
I really enjoy the radio. I use it almost everyday and find it a good value. I have found no issues to date.
Any ideas on how to disable TX on channels b-d but maintain tx only on one channel(a)? So essentially, you would be only RXing on b-d, but would be able to TX on A? I see in CHIRP, that there is an ability to disable TX, but it apples to the whole radio.
Not off the top of the head... we will do some research and get back to you.
How do you add alphabethic letters on channels frequencies
V/M is VFO / Memory
Dose this radio do crossband repeat if so I may be interested in it
There is no cross band repeat the I have discovered
Live Rogue ok thanks for the info I will not put this on my list of radios I am looking at as I need that feature
Can this be used for echolink ?
Yes.
You sure this radio isn't made by GLOCK?
Kinda lost you there... but I’m a new ham.
THIS IS VERY CONFUSING🤮
Do you have this radio?
DON'T GET THIS RADIO. IT BROKE. I SENT IT BACK. THEY WILL PROBABLY SEND ME A REFURBISED MODEL BECAUSE IT'S A ONE DAY TURN AROUND.
yES this radio is made by GLOCK.
