He probably did get compensation as the criminal probably had to pay a fine. And if not, the criminal went to prison, that’s justice! However the slave owner did not go to prison, or pay a fine, the slave owner was compensated via taxes by the descendants of the slaves! Does your remedial mind now understand the huge differences?

It's the form of chattel slavery that took place in America and and the Caribbean that was different. The structures and laws inacted in support of such slavery I'm told still exists today, the 14th ammendment being only one. The black community in the U. S has had limitations placed on its wealth and welfare for generations, some flurishing communities were burnt to the ground by state state sponsored racists and never compensated. Or had their lands stolen by the state. The ebb and flow of racism against corporate black Americans is still alive destroying generational wealth. Individually, there doesn't seem to be much issue with self advancement for many, but organised black advancment; that's a whole other issue. I don't know if you've heard but that kind of thing gets you killed, one of them dared to dream and ended up in a federally sanctioned killing allegedly, you may have heard of it. So I say yes to reperations, put in trust for the benefit of black communities, in business, in jobs, in housing, in healthcare, in education, in the removal of unjust laws against them, in the courts, the prison system filled, 70% of which are black males.

By your logic, it's no problem to buy stolen goods but its the criminal that sold it to you that's guilty? and your not party to the crime? HummmnđŸ€” but you have the stolen property in your house.
And that doesn't make you party to the crime? you benefited and profited from its use, maybe enough to pay for your kids education or buy a house. You do realise there are laws that would confiscate your I'll gotten gains?
The point is that something should be done to compensate the injustice done to the decendants of slaves not slavery itself but the subjugation done to them through unjust laws, racist acts of violence economically and physically post slavery.
Those slave colonies made part of the "commonwealth" did not share in that wealth but rather it was extracted from them at great profit before and after slavery.
      This abuse must be stopped.

Trying to be white? If the standard of whiteness meant you gained access to certain privileges in society that a negro couldn't have, as a negro, doing all you can to be better tolerated by a society that hates you makes perfect sense. If changeing your speech, how you present yourself and how you educate yourself gets your kids into college, out of the guetto and into a 5 bed house in the suburbs instead of a 2 bed shack, seems worth being labeled a coon, uncle Tom, coconut, orio or whatever. To that person, I imagine the persecution they suffered was worth it. It means their children won't have to suffer in ignorance and from victim mentality, they would become the pioneers that lead by example in the hope of reclaiming the soverienty stolen from their ancestors as a free people.

Slavery was an accepted way of life in many parts of the world in those days.
Africans were enslaving Africans well before the White man appeared on the market place.
Slavery was part of tribal law/customs, convention or culture in many parts of the world, that's one of the reasons why the British paid off the slave owners in British held territories.
