  • Fruit trees are extremely efficient at generating sugar. One way of knowing that is by observing the spring flowers. All of the blossoms, nectar and new leaves are all generated by energy that the tree collected last summer.
Not only did the tree grow last year. It produced a whole crop of sugary fruit and still managed to store enough energy for the spring show of blossoms. Each blossom also has the nectar it needs to attract pollinators.
    Pretty amazing isn't it?
