This so seems like a studio project, so jerky, insanely tight, highly technical, yet lush in parts. But apparently they can do it live! I don’t have a link, but if you’re offered one, grab it

Yay! Thank you for reacting to Sokoninaru 🖤 Only just discovered them myself this summer but they’ve quickly become one of my favourite bands. They’re just so damn talented and deserve so much more recognition.

so-koh-knee-nah-ru is how you would pronounce the band name and you nailed the song name. thanks for reacting there’s not enough of them on here. also i’m not sure if that’s one of your songs in the intro but it sounds amazing keep it up!

I would classify them as "experimental rock". They definitely have math rock influences, but I've never heard another math rock band this catchy or high-energy. The genre is mostly dominated by chill jazz-like sounds. I've been trying for a long time to find music like theirs, but I haven't found a genre they fit cleanly into.

You should check out different sense by dir en grey. Very heavy song with insane vocals. The music video is very weird as well...

Would be categorized as math rock band, but, then, without using the word 'math rock', the music they create would be thought hard or heavy, not soft and light. So 'hard rock band' is not necessarily wrong IMO

Japanese Math Metal. Althogh the way they sing is Math Rock.

I don’t think they ever called themselves a heavy metal band. They actually said they don’t know much about heavy metal music 🙂
