This is one of the best interviews I have listened too in quite some time. Facts and truth being spoken in a manner of dignity and respect and yet the meanings clear. This was the type of politics I grew up in. I am a Democrat therefore most of my policy beliefs are different from Senator Corker’s. What is the same is our love of Country and the belief that you are to be in service of the Country, Constitution and constituencies not power for powers sake. This is a human that I can respect.
Thank you for your service Senator Corker.

Needless to say establishment GOP was not the spokesman of the "average American" anyway.
The Tea Party and now Trump is not cause, but effect of the delegitimization of the interests of the white lower / lower-medium income classes. Term limits come into play when one tells oneself: It's not *my* senator or it's not *my* congressional rep on down to state, city/town, district attorney's and point to others. Most people have access and don't use it to see how their reps voted *before* voting for them again and again and politicians understand this. People also only listen for snippets they want to hear and tune out the rest and politicians understand that also. Susan Collins is the perfect example here. In the mid 90's during her 1st campaign, she said that 1 term would be enough--how many terms now? She royally pissed off her home state in 2019 and 2020 and they found someone to campaign against her then what happened last November? We have the oldest Congress in the history of the country some of whom are medicated or should be, Senators Feinstein and Grassley are prime examples of candidates of being past due for retirement.

Agree! We all saw it while Trump was campaigning. Lying, attacking everyone, demonizing people of color, demonizing democrats, sending out violent dog whistles to his rally crowds, etc...The morning after he won the election I was sick to my stomach knowing what was to come in the next 4 years. These people are full of shit and just trying to whitewash it all!

Every single person, not just American but person on the planet should acknowledge and accept that PBS Frontline is what news truly looks like without money changing the narrative or deciding the perspective. Dollar signs, zeros on contracts, and handshakes aren't telling me what to believe anymore. I'm embarrassed to say I only discovered Frontline a few days ago, but proud to say I don't have to turn to major news outlets to watch 3 or 4 different narratives of the same set of facts to try and figure out what really happened anymore.

@Google Nazi Company you've watched 50 and you still can't see that PBS gave both Coulter and Bannon just enough rope to hang themselves with?
It's much more powerful when you hear the vitriol from their own mouths; unedited, unabashed, and outright. Don't you think?
Persuasion happens on both sides. Anne Coulter, Steve Bannon, Trump, Biden, Obama, Cruz, Pelosi, McConnell, etc etc, have all been victims of disinformation. (I say that as a proud and educated liberal.) PBS simply levels the playing field by letting people make up their OWN minds by not influencing the audience.
Thank you for watching the series. I hope like hell more people will follow suit!

This Republican, Bob Corker, sounds exactly like myself, and how many fellow republican friends would speak. It’s with the same Integrity we shared our opinions and ideals. What’s happened to our party started about ten years ago; many of these new members voiced such outrages ideals that seemed headed for civil unrest in our country! Many of us pray for the return of these faith based voices concerned for the country; instead of those voices speaking out only for themselves and their popularity. God bless our democracy, Amen. 😍🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰Thanks PBS FRONTLINE for sharing these people with us!
