Worshiping the Lovecraftian Gods is another version example of pop culture witchcraft.

Even one human is able to create an independent self conscious being; the well known name of theirs are tulpas, but the practice is a quite old common Tibetian practice. The core of both process behind egregores and tulpas are the focused energy and emotion you drive and shape into something. We are creators, if that speaks to anyone. The energy we produce, surround ourselves, others and focus it into certain things are manifests and pretty much affect our lives. The same energy able to destroy or build things, one of the main reason why we must pay attention to our emotions and thoughts, for even these are energies.
In fact, there were deities who were not exist until the people started to produce certain emotions and attentions towards them - so they basically also counts as "fictional characters" who became a thing. We usually have a base recipe for an entity whether it's a deity or a fictional character; we know how they look like, how they sound like, we know about their personality, their likes and dislikes, their good and bad habits, strong suits, abilities and many more. In case of tulpas, obviously it's one person who feed the being they plan to create, but actual pop culture characters can reach millions of people - even more people than few deities managed to back then and ever since.
Some of the pop culture characters got much more energy than deities from previous ages, and the reason of it is quite simple. In our era the human population is much more greater. Apart from that, technology gives us countless way to reach pop culture characters via media, internet. We're talking about millions of people, not just fans who actively think about them, feel towards them and even obsessed with them, but people who just came across to these characters as long as they watch the show, movie, game, book etc.
Of course, the way how avarage person worship and literally spread these characters to get even more energy without even realizing them is basically art - similar way as people did back then -; they draw (both classic and digital artworks), paint, they sculp, they write fanfictions, they create videos about them, they speak about them via analyzing videos or simply express how they see them, they speak about their show, theories, they cosplay them, and even take a part in stage games / stage performances (it's quite common with manga/anime characters for example).
We can safely say that the reason why some characters are so powerful and can help a lot to people because they deal with a lot of energy they already gained, and people would be surprised how big their actual arsenal is in spite they are "fictional characters", and not a thousand of years deity.
A character I started to work whit - who has been inspired by an actual deity - taught me, that one of a great way how they can spread and reach people is inspiration. Some older deities can actually decide to inspire artist to find their way back to our modern era. While Marvel Loki is not the same entity what the Loki we know from the mythology, without any doubt, this inspiration which surrounds these Marvel characters are definitely helped these old Gods to come back to the modern age, get people attention, interest - including witches, magicians, sorcerers attention - so they can stay. It's a win situation for both them and for the artist, but also for the new entity who born because of this.
I'm really grateful for the video, it was interesting to watch and good to see that more and more people are actually talk about this. Thank you. 🤍🔥

The 'you shall not pass' scene in lord of the rings is one of my favourite scenes in all the movies. Its funny, my younger brothers have a sign on their bedroom door that says 'speak friend and enter.'
I have always been so confused with the term pop culture witch craft. I would definitely love to give it a go a lot more as there are certain characters such as Bonnie Bennet from vampire dairies who has really influenced me.

Personally, I have an altar set up to the pokemon Mew, which I get mixed feelings on the being I'm working with being an egregore born of the Pokemon Franchises popularity, or some other spirit that likes taking the guise for fun. Whatever she is (I get strong feelings on that particular detail), she seems to want to work with me.

Not quite pop culture witchcraft. But I started working with khonsu because of moon knight. So pop culture led to real witchcraft? Cool.

I started to feel a strong connection with Slaanesh from Warhammer 40k, which led me to the qlipha Gamaliel and strong incubi and succubi workings, yet I still work Slaanesh as the warrior aspect of the current. I also made my own versions of classic Golden Dawn and Thelemic rituals with the characters from the K-ON! anime, including signs based on my favorite moments from the show and always following Qabalistic correspondences

That's amazing. I remember I've got few items and even a silver pendat showing a Slaanesh symbol. I've always felt myself connected to Slaanesh and peeking back at my previous work with demons and other deities, no wonder why.

My main path is based on the Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan. The main God I worship are the Vampire Gods. Ever since reading those series, it made me feel right at home in a spiritual sense. It's made me feel even more at home after recently discovering I was Vampirekin. Blessings ^^.

I recently heard about this. I'm considering maybe invoking Marilyn Monroe for glamour and try to contact a certain actor (who's still alive) through magical ways since I've only gotten so far in mundane ways.

I want to say that I agree that there are different versions of Loki. As far as some of the individuals who follow a Nordic path and etc. saying that the Marvel Loki isn't the 'real' energy of Loki, we really don't know. That's a fact. Yes, there are the original stories of Loki, but we really don't know what the 'real' energy of Loki is. We can believe there's a 'true' form of Loki, but we really can't claim that the Marvel version isn't the 'real' energy of Loki because we just don't know. Period. Just wanted to share my view on this subject.

I want to incorperate Atla in my practice. Im interested in pop culture witchcraft. I feel like it might be better for me being a more athest witch im very intruiged by narnian lore even though it has christian conotations its just magickal enough to pass as pagan.
