  • Check out this dude, he stabs a tire with a huge spike, rolls the tire and it is sealed instantly! This is a must for any piece of equipment you own! Special thanks to Stanley the Dirt Monkey / theenergy4

    Well no offense to anyone, but I'm delighted to hear that I'm not the only one who has trouble with Tire Slime, and now I know why Autozone gave me a 5 gallon bucket of it for free!

    Some tyre fitters will refuse to, or charge extra for, swapping over tyres with sealant because it is so messy - any feedback on this?
    Oh, it seems to be a well worth while product but, because substantial carcass damage may occur without realisation by the driver (assuming they actually pay attention to their tyres), perhaps it should be restricted to low(er) speed/off road vehicles?

      Oh yeah! Nothing will PO your tire guy more than starting to change a tire and finding out it is filled with slime. I ruined a good tire gauge once by checking a tire that I didn't know was filled with slime. That goop shot out and got all up inside the gauge. The speed /safety issue is probably also why they don't recommend it for cars, trucks or SUVs. A good tire sealant has its place. If you run farm or lawn equipment where they have thistle thorns you can go broke buying tubes and tires. In those instances a good sealer is the way to go. TireJect is currently about the best one out there but it is very expensive. It would be interesting to see how this stuff compares (I mean, other than having the company salesman tell you it is great). :-)

      Seems like either pay extra and warn your tire guy, or change them yourself if you need such reliable tires.

      Seeing as how this stuff is water soluble, at least it'll be easy to clean with a shop vac and a garden hose, unlike latex-based formulations.

  • @avlisk
    @avlisk Před 5 lety +1

    Would this stuff as OEM be preferable to TPMS? Wouldn't it be cheaper and less prone to failure in the long run?

    What if you opened up the valve stem to put more air in while the tire was upside-down?

      I'm gonna step out on a limb here and say that if you've got to put air in it, then the sealant isn't sealing. Ultimately just make sure you get the pressure correct upon the initial adding of sealant?

    • @allancivitello3771
      @allancivitello3771 Před 2 lety +1

      Don't!

    • @MikeTrieu
      @MikeTrieu Před 2 lety

      Fortunately, if you can still remove the valve core, you can just wash it off with some water and reinsert it into the stem.

    This is on Amazon, 4 bottles for $50. Not bad. How many ounces for rear tractor tires? This would have saved me over $200 in flat tires in one weekend.

      We put tireject in my sidexside tire an it didn’t stop the 1/4 slice between the treads from leaking. Followed directions an everything. The atv dealer said they don’t have good luck lately with it. They think there was a bad batch of the stuff.
