Great job but I think it would have been better if you painted it red like an original F40. It would have looked amazing in red.

Very clean work. The emblem on the front clam is always the rectangular regular Ferrari one, never the Scuderia.
O wow, my childhood memories just came back to me, I had this exact F40 as a kid and loved it!
I still have this model standing in my living room, red, no damage, at least 30 years old, Bburago back then was still producing in Italy...
Whether it is ‘real’ or not is immaterial. It’s the craftsmanship you admire and the techniques you try to learn - surely?
Maybe. But it's not exactly informative if thousands of people watching believe it's real when it isn't, is it?

went from a old, rusty, paint chipped, depressing Ferrari f40, to a beautiful, adrenaline rushing, loud, fast ferrari f40 (ofc all of this is based off of real life, cuz models cant go fast or be loud or make your adrenaline rush) great job man

Nice work, just one detail that has to be changed. The logo on the hood, should be a rectangular one, not the shield version that is meant for the front fenders. Other then that well done.
Fun fact: Bburago's F40 is the Prototype with the 5 vents below wing (4 on F40), different rear window. The prototype's side mirrors sit in the side windows and not on the door. Also the Prototype's rear fog lamps don't sit on the lower bumper. Your F40 Prototype is without a doubt the best looking in the world.
I didn't know Bburago based their design on the prototype. This model was so hard to find that I got mine in Hong Kong around 1991 or so.
The fact that the paint is coming off so easy after applying paint stripper is proof that it's not that old. Even with the paint stripper, old paint will not come off that easy

Great restoration job, but if you allow me, in my opinion the color that would have looked best on the F-40 is red, where it would stand out the most and in any case white, which would also have been a wonderful tribute to the legendary series of the 80 of Miami Vice. still great job.

When you can’t afford to restore let alone own a F40, this is what you get lol. Great video the way the hood was sitting in the beginning makes it look like there was some frame damage.
Brave not going Red. Ferrari red is the only choice for me but amazing none the less.

I had one of these back in 1993 (or thereabout - I was about 3 years old) and I royally effed the sorry thing up. Last memory I have from it is that anything which could have come off was off the car. I wish I would still have it today.

Great work! Your paint work is immaculate. Nice fake "before" model overall, too. I'd like to see a process video of those. The "broken" headlamp lenses were too obvious, though. Also there is no way you sanded that scratched windshield back to pristine condition.

Looks like the ol Bburago model F40.
I had one as a kid bought when I first visited the UK, but brought it back to the Caribbean and one year I went States side, only to return to find out my mother allowed my then little cousin into my room, took it as a toy and proceeded to destroy it by thrashing it around.
I was never the same since.
Tuning, cause the F40 now features carpet and mats 😉
Besides a Bburago 250GTO the only model I felt the need to improve was an equally old Bburago F40.
After that I moved on to the Elite series … still fun to improve the standard Bburago
This has again become a extraordinarily beautiful and detailed restoration. Because of the weathering actually better than new.

I like the metallic black you did at the end, but I'd prefer it in its classic red (Rossa Corsa) as I think it looks best in the red. Otherwise, good work.

how do you get all the damaged cars do you leave them outside or something
these cars are damaged for the purpose of these videos. Actual aging will have paint wearing differently, dirt only in rarely contacted areas, and the dirt/grime won't be uniform in color, like the whitewash this example had. It's also suspicious that the actual physical damage is never shown or there conveniently is never any damage more than surface-level (paint) and occasionally broken glass parts.
They still do good work fixing these up, but it's disingenuous to portray this as a restoration as if the car was genuinely found in an abused/damaged state.
I freaking love your videos dude. this is something I can watch all day and not get bored of it! I've never felt so amazed and entertained ever since CZcams's dumb new policies came in. I REALLY love the amount of effort you put into all of these old and trashed models you find or buy and make them really awesome and unique in your own way. Amazing job! The only comment I have is for the front emblem it should be rectangular and not shield shaped like on the sides. The color is very nice though they were all originally red from the factory and I would also paint the rear view mirror in black. But nonetheless - great skills 👌🏽 👏

What did you use for the rear taillight section? Looked a bit like fly screen?
It's interesting how he built the brake discs. Would be interesting if the wheels would snap on the axles after installing the discs.Alot older diecasts from Bburago don't have brake disc's.
