The fact that they made the choice of a sad soundtrack for the final Agni Kai was a great example of why this show ruled.
Most shows would have chosen something fast-paced as they'd already done previous bending duels in the series. But this fight... we understand the history behind both these siblings, how they got to this point... and the music just underscores how this isn't a typical fight, it isn't some massive triumph or glorious battle - it's simply the only thing Zuko can do to save the Fire Nation and the world from Azula... and save Azula from herself.
Even as a kid that scene was always so powerful to me because of the music. It left such an impact on me it remains one of my favorite moments in the show. The animation/fight choreography/ soundtrack all lines up so perfectly for a tragically beautiful fight
"PRINCE OF THE FIRE NATION AND HEIR TO THE THRONE!" *next scene is Ozai throwing lightning at Zuko*
Ozai: "let's change that to deceased prince"
Next scene: Zuko redirects the lightning and gives Ozai an immediate code brown.

I always remember the crazed look in zuko’s eyes at 1:20 . To me it’s the horror and adrenaline of knowing you’re doing the wrong thing but unable to stop

After such a struggle between right and wrong he was faced with the option of turn his back on the fire nation and his family that already outcasted him, or take the easy route of teaming up with his evil sister and possibly going home as a member of the family that helped defeat the avatar.
Alot of his emotions came back to the surface at that moment.
Never seen a relapse being represented like that since Vegeta letting Babidi take him over. Gotta handed to the writers, they made an awesome anti hero.
I wish they would have had Zuko use more of his swordsmanship, it would have been really cool to have seen him combine his swords skills and his fire bending more often, and especially in the last season; but oh well beggers can't be choosers
Why use swords when firebending already is the strongest weapon he could possibly ask for?
I mean I also like when he fights with his swords but they're more like his backup weapon if he can't use firebending, for example if someone got too close to him to effectively firebend so he has to use swords
@@runtergerutscht4401 in that case it would be far better for him to do his fire knives like the first time we see him fighting Azula. If someone is too close for short range bending. Swords will only put him at a disadvantage at that range
@@TCCWhitesmiths most of the time Zuko used swords was in the earth kingdom while he was undercover.
Using firebending in the earth kingdom wouldn't have been the best idea
@@TCCWhitesmiths but I imagine bending fire into knife shape takes time and sometimes, you're just better off drawing your swords.

He saw the fire heading towards his face and was like "Not this time, fool". This marked the beginning of Zuko's character development. In that Agni Kai we see two types of military philosophies: the first one based on honor, the other one based on power. It's morality against brutality. And I love the fact Zhao is voiced by Jason Isaacs, aka Lucius Malfoy

Although Rava does reincarnate to water after air, Katara is 14 at beginning of the series and their is a perfect 100 year gap between Aang trapped in iceberg and escaping iceberg. The avatar would have to be a baby.

You can really see that, in the final fight, Zuko didn’t fight just like a Firebender, but he followed his uncle’s footsteps and fought using the combined techniques of his newfound friends. He used airbending moves, waterbending as well. I can even see hints of earthbending in his attacks.
The Agni Kai has got to be one of the best fighting scenes I've seen throughout the entire show
Zuko redirecting Ozai's lightning only would've been a Kyoshi moment if he had aimed it right at his heart

Zuko is savage when he's anger are explode
I love that Zuko is a late bloomer in fire bending. Since he can’t control his anger very well, using his emotion as source to do it wasn’t helping him very much. But when he learnt the true way of doing so. I can see his movement and his demeanor become more calm and subtle since he doesn’t have to be mad to firebend. And praise the lord, less yelling whenever he does it
Iroh really came through for Zuuko, he could have been doing anything else but knew his nephew was disturbed and needed guidance.

Zuko was anything but angry in the last one. He realised by then that his anger did not fuel his fire and that gave him more power than he had imagined.

Zuko & Azula’s final Agni Kai to me just showed how fire bending isn’t all destructive, but rather almost a form of art. The music along with their fluid movements made their fight breathtaking, almost like they were dancing.

Zuko always the untalented one, his fire was weak when he started fire bending, he lacked natural agility, talent everything and then he found that he can't use lightning when everyone in his family can. He worked hard though
