- "But you'd be surprised what you can live through"
Jafar confronts the Genie and Abu in the Palace gardens and shows his power, imprisoning the pair.
The Return of Jafar 1994
Produced by The Walt Disney Company.
Jafar's song "You're Only Second Rate" Voice by Jonathan Freeman - Krátké a kreslené filmy
“Granny’s gonna grab ya” that line always slays me.
In Finnish version the line he says is: "Psykopatisoidaan!" As referring to Norma/Norman Bates 😂
That movie predicted the horror game “Granny”
But you'd be surprised what you can live through.
Love that
Doesn't Iago say that as well? That's what I Googled but this video popped up.
Now that was a great quote 3 times in the same movie.
Agreed I love that line too it never ever gets old ever.
But what does that line even mean?
@@johnplatz3503 that's what I'm trying to figure out
At least he was nice enough to apologize for spoiling the picnic.
Jafar is by far one of the best Disney villains of all time
And nobody could’ve voiced him better than Jonathan Freeman! It’s not just that he’s voiced the character for such a long time; his voice just seems so RIGHT for someone like Jafar!! 💪🏻👍🏻
This song is honestly the best part of this whole movie. I still like this song a lot
All the song were really pretty decent. But this song is very fitting. It perfectly mirrors the genie song in the first film
Let us be honest, villians always have the best songs, lines and the best laughs.
Ikr it’s the complete opposite of “friend like me” while friend like me shows the genies great abilities this one demeans them.
You can tell Jonathan Freeman had alot of fun recording this song (even if the sequel should've never existed)
Well, the original movie was so popular, it warranted a TV Series, and it was either break this up into a 5-Part Pilot like with shows like DuckTales and Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, or release it as a Direct-To-Video Movie. In a way, this is exactly that, a 5-Part Pilot for Aladdin: The Series.
@@YoshiAngemon it’s a shame that this movie doesn’t have the same look at the movie but the look of the tv series. It’s so distracting to look at if you watch the original and then this. Like the cover art for this movie has the same designs from the original.
Idk every time he was jafar he sounded like he laid into it. Except maybe kingdom hearts
Mr. Freeman is crazy!
Jafar is the best part.
If Jafar could have just chilled out a bit, say for 10,000 years, who knows? Him and Genie could've been friends, maybe.
Dang, genie Jafar's almost got a damn 12-pack of abs.
Hes ripped to shreds.
Homer Simpson vs satan. Interesting. lmfao.
OMG I just noticed that.
This song is pretty ironic. It's called "You're only second rate" and he is mocking a voice actor that has to impersonate Robin Williams because he didn't return for this movie (which is also second rate, as a direct-to-TV sequel). So pretty literal. It's also the second Jaffar song that just mocks his opponents, so he never gets his own "villain song".
I wish the quality was as good as in first movie...
Ikr
Jade Face same
Jades Face Yea me too and it should have been longer SMH
exactly, this is not good animation
It was TV Disney that made this film, as a pilot for the series. Had fk all to do with the film Disney. The film department would not have been stupid enough to kill off jafar
If they make an Alaadin 2 live action they better put this song in that movie. This song is too good
1:04 That laugh is so nice. It's so demonic.
My favorite song in The Return of Jafar

It still breaks my heart to see Genie like this..
genie wasn't the same genie... once he became free... otherwise he would deal with jafar.
@@Rambo20244 didn't Jafar wish to be " an all-powerful Genie"?
@@Indestructiblevibranium so what! genie was all powerful and had more experience than jafar... so he definitely would of destroyed him... genie knew how to kill jafar all together by revealing it to Aladdin by destroying the lamp.... see jafar didn't know nothing about being a genie or how to destroy a genie... he became genie by trying to be power hungry and wasn't aware of all the rules that goes with being a genie.
@@Rambo20244 Jafar knew to protect his lamp too otherwise he wouldn't stare in horror before it plummeted into the lava. Maybe before, maybe after he became a genie. Remember, he was already a sorcerer in the 1st movie so it makes sense he'd have some knowledge of mystical creatures like genies even if he never met one before. On the other hand, all that knowledge of genies could have been passed to him once he became one himself.
he looks very sad inside the glass globe :(
thankfully iago breaks him out later in the movie :D
Instead of making this into it's own movie, they should've just kept it as being apart of the TV series. Imagine if it was Mozenrath who rediscovered Jaffar's lamp instead of a peddler, it could've been a real dark contrast to Al and Genie's dynamic.
I think this is the prequel to the series.
Man, the quality here is as good as like those CDI games
You’d be surprised what you can live through...

Main Street Electrical Parade both!
Jafar Is Toying With Genie Because Genie Made Jafar Is The Greatest Powerful Genie In The Universe And Most Importantly Since Genie Is Free Genie Is Lost Most Of Power It Had..
1)He wished to be the most powerful BEING in the Universe, and since the Genie's limits are Genies itselfs,he made Jafar one
2)He lost NONE of his powers
Geek Produções yeah it wouldn’t make sense how being free from the lamp somehow makes him weaker
@@clubedanarrativa5603 Genie did lose the majority of his powers as much of is was tied to the power of the lamp. During Aladdin 2 and Aladdin the animated series, it was explained that he from "phenomenal cosmic powers with an iddy bitty living space" to having "Not so Phenomenal semi-cosmic powers but all the freedom in the world." Or something like that. By the movie, he's regained a lot of former magic strength but it still wouldn't be up to snuff compared to when he was bound to the lamp. Another bound Genie named, Edith, was also shown to be more powerful than a freed Genie.
Even though Jafar’s wish was to be the most powerful Genie doesn’t really explain the fact why Blue Genie’s power have no effect on him, since it was he who granted the wish, and he must have naturally existed as one since dawn of time compared to Jafar, thus effectively making him all powerful amongst the all powerful .
Also since Jafar was only human, and if Abysmal had freed him, then he will lose all his Genie powers.
It really doesnt matter if he existed as one jafar became what blue genie was before he was freed which was all powerful and genie after being freed he had his power decreased if he was still under the lamp then the fight would have been different
When Genie was freed at the end of the first movie, he gave up a lot of his genie power in the process.

this is what you get when it goes direct to vhs. the movie was good but the animation is not so great. but i never noticed it as a kid.. lol
lux bledstone Neither did I.
lux This was supposed to be a three-part pilot of the Aladdin TV series and this movie kickstarted the show. This should've went with the original plan 'cause, as you said, the animation isn't so great.
TV Disney got hold of it, jafar was spared in the main movie because he was such a hit. TV Disney killed him, literally. Walter Disney turns in his grave every hour at what the Disney empire is now
since jafar is far stronger than genie it really make him look like a simple magician vs the most powerfull creature in disney (if he was free)
Because when Aladdin set him free, he lost most of his power. Jafar, on the other hand, still had all of his. Jafar and pre-freedom Genie are more or less equals, with blue Genie probably being a bit more powerful since he gave Jafar his power int he first place.
what makes you think blue genie would have more power just because he gave Jafar all the exact same powers he had at the time? Also don't forget on top of all those powers Jafar is also the most powerful sorcerer in the world thanks to his 2nd wish, so it seems that he might actually have the upper hand
BE FAIR
Jafar Genie is night omnipotent he pretty much can destroy everyone and everything.
@@MrJumbo-zx1jt yep, Genie Jafar is nigh omnipotent while Genie is lower tier nigh omnipotent as he lost most of his powers
Man., I love my childhood
When i was a boy ,watching this scene was pretty scary ,seeing the one I believed to be the strongest being overwhelmed by an even more powerful villain ,its a good formula for movies to remove that sense of safe and security for the viewers
I wonder who put the genie in the lamp before he met his first master.
How come the genie (blue) still has the gold handcuffs here?

This movie was a solid sequel tbh
the movie's underrated, but the animation is so incredibly bad, though.
*_THIS_* movie is the one disney needs to look at remastering, not all these other movies that already looked fine as-is. freaking dust this off the shelf and pay for some decent animation already, Disney.
it's really not that bad of a movie, even the TV series looked slightly better (because of consistency) and the third movie was more defined and had better animated shots and frame-by-frames.
Abu I don't want to alarm you but there could be a boogey man or boogey MEN in the house!
Jafar is the yin to Aladdin’s yang.
I used to rub tea pots in our kitchen. Seriously!!
Not quite. His actual words were to become "an all powerful genie." So he's the same thing Genie was before he was freed. Genie (blue) may have even been more powerful than Jafar before he was free, since he was the one who gave Jafar his power. Would love to see the Genie from the first movie at full power take on Jafar. Also, as a plot device they had to make Genie lose power after his freedom because otherwise it would have been an instant win and no movie if Genie still had full power.
I thought he said, MOST powerful genie.
@@dr.spectre9697 no... all powerful genie like prefeedom genie

Genie has been around for thousands of years with his old powers. Jafar only gained magical ability recently. Genie's thousands of years of experience and cunning trump jafars powers.
Aladin beat him with apples on the last boss fight, go figure.
0:23 Jafar, you owe Genie and Abu an apology, you tall, dark, Genie-wannabe! 💢
But to be surprised what you can live through.
Jafar! But but i thought you were defeated.
Because now that Genie was freed his powers were diminished.
Also, when Jafar made his final wish he wished to be an "all powerful genie". Therefore he surpassed Genie in power even before Genie was freed.
no genie was already an all powerful genie he stated that in the cave of wonder when he explained it to Aladdin
2:44 "ALAKAZAM YABAS

Jafar leave genie alone
My name problem with this movie is. In the first movie jafar was amazing villain. But in this one he's seriously watered down.
How is Jafar watered down in this movie? If anything Jafar is a better villain or at least equal to being an amazing villian as he was in the first movie.
Like despite the fact he had limited freedom as a genie he was still smart, cunning, and manipulative to the point he nearly succeeded in defeating the entire cast.
I always wanted Jafar to win in these films, I'm so sick of every film ever, especially those for kids having the good guy win over and over and over and over and over again!!!! WHY is it SO HARD to find a film where the villains win? I route for the villains all the time, the only films I like where the good guys win are the James Bond series such as Licence to kill, Gladiator and enemy at the gates. Even though some of the bad guys in bond are pretty cool like Mr. Wint and Mr. Kid! I am always left feeling deflated that every kids film ever the goodies win. Jafar is by far one of my top favourite baddies EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. Brooks was a nice change, I also like law abiding citizen, especially where he tortures Darby, a brilliant scene. SCREW Dexter, he's too good, I want a BAD serial killer, not a "justified" killer! ) :< Am I the only frigging one on YT who likes darker material, instead of all the sugary feel0good shite all over modern TV? Well, Genie, at least you did a good job on Jafar's third wish, he IS the most powerful genie.
+Starwaker It wasn't Genie's fault, it was Aladdin's fault. When Jafar mutated himself into a snake, Aladdin said that Genie is more powerful than Jafar giving Jafar power and being able to take it away which caused Jafar to realize being a genie is better than a sorcerer. So after that Jafar being a snake told Genie that he (Jafar) wishes to be a genie. Then Genie said "alright, your wish is my command, way to go Al" which shows if Aladdin didn't say a word about how better Genie is, Jafar wouldn't of gotten the idea to become a genie himself. However, Aladdin's idea was knowing that Genie's are prisoners in lamps and that Jafar would be trapped away but Aladdin should have thought what if Jafar got released by someone which was Abis Mal.

How can one genie be one more powerful than another genie? Is it that one word he said about his third wish?
If your wonder what I mean in the other finally battle jafar wished to be a *”ALL POWERFUL”* genie.
Mr Hippo no , he wished to be “an all powerful genie” but when genie became free, he no longer had his full power. He had semi phenomenal nearly cosmic power
Wait if he had more power when he was trapped but he wasn’t when he started wouldn’t that mean his free form was his true power?
Mr Hippo No being a a genie is like checks and balances from a to a free genie. A genie has Phenomenal cosmic powers but at the cost of granting wishes to someone holding its lamp and is a prisoner for all eternity. But a freed genie , is exactly that a freed genie, with cosmic power. More semi phenomenal nearly cosmic. He is still pure magic he just can’t everything that he used to. Genie stated that when he first appeared before Jasmine and Aladdin

Another Star Wars person!

Even bad guys were singing in those days
I think there the same power level ,, but Jafar is.just meaner and smarter ,, maybe it's more of a mental battle , and blue genie just "felt" defeated and so he was ,,, I mean there gods that are equal in power so maybe it's just a ego game
Not the same. Genie said that his power aren't what it used to be. His "phenomanel, cosmic power" became "nearly phenomanel, nearly cosmic power"
@@Trigger0221Genie is still a high tier reality warper though.
So sad when you see Genie trapped inside something again with a depressed look that almost seems to say "Well back to square one again...", just made me want to hate Jafar even more lol.
How did Jafar get this powerful? He wished that he would be a genie but why is he so much powerful than Genie?
Wished to be the most powerful genie.
And most powerful sorcerer in the world as his second wish in the first movie
Genie had phenomenal cosmic powers, but when he was freed, he lost a lot of his power and became semi-phenomenal, nearly cosmic. For a Genie to grant so may wishes, he needs to be practically omnipotent, but if he is free, he doesn't need that much power because he's not obligated to grant wishes anymore.
Let Dr. Doom steal the Genie power, Jafar would suffer it

Is Jafar, Bad⁉️
Yes. Bad and way more dangerous than any nuke.
Jafar sounds kinda like Stewie from Family Guy.
How is it Jafar, a newer Genie, can defeat Genie, an experienced being?
He wished to be "AN AL POWERFUL" genie
Fullmetal Maine he’s more all-powerful.
no... genie explained that by being free.... he lost most of his powers... he was never the same after Aladdin wished him free.
Jafar also wished to be the most powerful sorcerer in the world
Jafar wished to be an *ALL POWERFUL* genie. his powers are nearly unlimited, restrained only by the "servant" laws of a Lamped Genie.
In contrast, Genie *WAS* pretty powerful himself, but granting freedom from his lamp came at the price of some of his power. He explains in one episode that his powers have been reduced to "semi-phenomenal, nearly cosmic"
Here, Genie is easily outmatched by the lamped Jafar, and is imprisoned in a magic-proof glass orb that even Genie's magic can't break.
In the final movie, _Aladdin and the King of Thieves,_ the power loss appears to have only been temporary; he casts much more successful magic spells and easily repairs the Sultan's palace after it is destroyed in the 40 thieves' burglary attempt.
