Imagine building fantastic cars out of junk and letting idiots drive them. Goblin Auto Club Manager is like an auto battler, but with racing instead of battling. So it's an auto racer? Buy parts from the junkyard, build cars with them, and choose your racing strategy. Your goblins do the driving.

If Reto had introduced this game as being a cult classic from the 90s, I probably would have believed him.
A lot of QoL like tooltips and such are a dead giveaway that it's modern, but the dev did nail the aesthetic of the 90s perfectly.
Nah. It has tutorial, and tooltips.

Heya, just a tip with regards to the (newish) thumbnails. Try to avoid using a red border at the bottom part. It makes it look like it would be a video I either started watching but stopped, or already watched to the finish. Just scanning my recommendations, I tend to ignore such videos, which might lead to people skip videos. (I had to do a double take as I realised I hadn't watched this video) The new colours for the thumbnails look great overall otherwise though!

The races were really intense and fun to watch! I like that there are so many cars, drivers, and parts to explore and I would really like to see how you break things down and work around it. It's a really cool game!
DOS-like graphics is not a retro aesthetic you usually expect, but it's pulled off really well here. Especially the faces. Very charming.

@seasidebaboon In case you can see comment updates I've bought your game and have been enjoying the heck out of it. Just beat the first two tournaments and am now contending with the challenges of much better opponents. This is a great game to pick up whenever I have got a spare half hour. The feeling of messing around with configurations getting a just-right setup is the best part of the game for me!

The pixel aesthetic reminds me of General Chaos, which I played on Sega Genesis back in the day. An absolute gem.

This reminds of Micro Machines, but with a manager mode, haha. A very fresh idea. That said, I wish the pixels were a little less chunky, as I find tue graphics a little difficult to parse in motion.

I'm sad that you referred to the bug as the "Herbie: Fully Loaded" car. It implies you're unfamiliar with the earlier and much better movies in the franchise. If that's the case, go see them. They're all great (with the possible exception of the one made-for-TV, but I haven't seen that one).
Nah I'm aware I just think herbie fully loaded is just a very funny name
@@Retromation True. I once saw a Lindsey Lohan TV interview (years ago) where she said the line: "Herbie was the car, I was fully loaded." I was still not really old enough to have paid attention to the problems she'd been having at the time, but that line was certainly something.
I wish Disney would've explored a different direction instead. Alonzo Hawk is the bad guy in both Herbie Rides Again and The Absent Minded Professor. So, canonically, Herbie exists in the same universe that flubber does. Herbie with flubber could have been amazing (or rubbish, but I'd still like to have seen them try).
