The meaning of differently abled, is having a different ability, like being able to run faster than someone else. Everyone is differently abled. Differently abled is like "joe runs faster than steve" meanwhile I am disabled and struggle to stand up for long without feeling sick. Do you understand?

As for the direction of the film, the visually challenged, i.e., differently-abled (may be he is partially blind but in a later scene he is seen touching his sister's hand to ascertain her presence) person is shown as looking straight to where the judges sit. Usually the visually challenged’s eyes would be a little lower, to wherefrom the voices come. (Of course, we can have it that his looking straight at the judges is also part of their ‘awareness creating act’.
Also, after his dance the visually challenged, i.e., differently-abled person is shown as searching for his white cane looking downwards which could have been more appropriately filmed as showing the visually challenged bending down and searching with his hands or searching for the cane with his feet. Just felt like sharing my views.
