I think his collaborations with Hivemind were a massively important part of his transition from “ex-CZcams rapper venturing into underground hip-hop” to “respected up-and-coming hip-hop personality”. I don’t necessarily think it was mission-critical to his rise (the music itself would’ve shone through eventually anyway), but I can’t help but thinking it really accelerated things by helping people see him as more than just a kid who got famous playing video games and wanted to be a rapper like any other teenager who ended up achieving a certain level of internet fame.
It’s ironic that being associated with a second CZcams channel helped him shake the “CZcams rapper” label, but I think it was really important for his brand to have people see him as a passionate and avid fan of the genre he was experimenting with himself. Whilst the channel is known for it’s quirky, esoteric humour, it’s clear to anyone who has seen their content that a love of hip-hop (and music in general) is at the core of the channel. The fact that Quadeca collaborated with them just as that channel started to really blow up introduced him to a growing audience of passionate music fans who were much more inclined to give his music a go without the same preconceptions about his background or motivations for making music - and word-of-mouth from those more “headsy” circles goes a very long way in a short space of time.
Actually I didn't really know much about that, I watched the videos where he appeared on hivemind, but like wayyy later, like at the start of this year I started really watching them, so I didn't know the impact that had on his career, if I ever do a deep dive video on Quad I will definitely make sure to mention this in it, thanks for the really i formative comment

beautiful well done video bro ong. quads is prob the only artist i think i will listen to for the majority of my life. his art grew as we grew with him, and the songs always relate to the things im goin through (he like 2years older than me) im pretty sure when im old and saggy, quads will have a perfect album to come along with it.
Thank you, and yeahh Quadeca's music always finds a way to hit you in the feels and be relatable to your life, I think that's because you can really interprate his newest songs any way you want, so it fits your life, and I think that's one of the reasons he's going to be one of the greatest to ever do it ngl.

Yeahhh, I used to listen to that song on repeat when voice memos came out lol, well that and red dot and eyes used to be my go to songs back then.

I did the captions seperataly from the video, I just ran it through capcuts AI subtitles thingy and thats what I got, I didnt rly know hoe to change it at the time.. but in the next video the captions will be better ong😭 (the next vid is about Corpse husband if ur interested)
