When determinant is equal to zero dependent When determinant is not equal to zero independent It's possible only in case of square matrix.
Zero hota hy tu independent ho jata hy
Jab Sare constant (linear combination) zero ho toh linearly independent hota hai Aur jab determinant zero hota h toh linearly dependent hota h
