- Gorilla Yamba's Rainy Day: Nest-Building and Raindrop Catching in ZooParc de Beauval, France. Watch as he charms with his wood wool antics and playful interactions with his fellow gorillas.
Gorilla Yamba from the gorilla green house at ZooParc de Beauval in France decides vigorously to spend some time in the light rain, grabbing a bunch of wood wool and placing it in the grass while raining. He sits in his little nest and starts yawning. He is on the move again taking his wood wool with him up onto the platform. He sits down again. Thinking for a few seconds and then he gathered it all again, spreading it all out in front of him. Seeing him there like that. He'll be a magnificent silverback one day.
I love Yamba. He's such a fluff ball. He isn't content on that platform either so he moves further up, of course taking all the wood wool with him. A look at the Patas monkey that lives with the gorillas in this mixed habitat. Yamba carries on making his nest.
On the ground under a big roof, the troop can spend outside without getting soaked by the rain. Carrying the wood wool on their head making a nest. I think it is Kovanga who catches the raindrop with his mouth and holds his hands out to catch some more. He suddenly gets up and tries to grab the older gorilla, but she hits out keeping him away. Kovanga turns around getting some wood wool waving it about before he sits down by the grass Verge and catches some raindrop s again. Then he gets up, swinging his arms and walking upright through the rain and back again towards the gorilla having a sleep and slapping him/her. I think by the wall standing next to the gorilla having the legs up the wall is Mapenzi. He has a lttle outbiurs towards Kovanga. Kovango moves away with his wood wool.
Yamba is now at the bush having some leaves and then he skipps back under the roof.
At the end some more gorillas catching the raindrops with their hands and licking it off.

Uh oh, we've got a walker whose not afraid of the rain, mostly you see the gorillas running for cover when it starts to rain. Yam is a plumb lil fellow with a distinctive face trying to decide on how to utilize the wood wool! Thx SV for the introduction to this happy healthy troop! It's raining in my neck of the woods too, for days...😎
I was expecting him to go inside or under the roof as soon as it started to rain, but no he happily stayed out to organize his wood wool. He's such a fluff ball. Our summer is finally here, we'll see how long it lasts. 😁
