Get a heavy duty machine needle. If you have a hem with 3-4 layers, lift the presser foot & push the fly wheel by hand. U.S. sizes are 8-19 (19 is for heaviest sewing, 8 is for very light fabrics). European sizes are 60-120, light to heavy. I believe some needles are labeled for denim. …perhaps because they think our pretty little heads can’t handle numbers.

А ещё можно было на кармане сделать какую-нибудь ненавязчивую красоту. Например, строчку декоративную
А ещё, я бы ремешок сделала съёмный. Чисто из соображений лени - потом его можно на другую сумку переставить )))

I like the way you added the drop in lining and bound the zipper. Ive been struggling wih ideas to do something like this when I use the top of jeans for a bag. But now see a way to do it! Thanks so much.

use a denim needle and denim thread....and a smooth fabric jean, not the hard cheap stuff

I have been bingewatching your excellent tutorials for days and subscribed. I have lots of zippers in my stash and two of them are such gorgeous chunky plastic ones but... Can you actually just sew through with a sturdy needle? It looks like it but to me it seems like magic! Best regards and much love from Norway :)

Great video. I followed the instructions well except on 11:50. The little handle for the zipper part that connects the rest of the bag I couldn't sew it because it was in the way and I didn't know how to get past it. Besides that great video.
