I’m low income and I realized I started with way too many envelopes so I condensed them a lot and continue to. I’d rather have fewer envelopes that I can stuff all/most of them every week.
I'm trying to get back into cash envelopes but I am in the same boat of only one income and it's still low. I am looking for a second income to start getting savings back. How many envelopes do you use and how do you consider categories ?
@@user-lu2ge7st6b I have about 15 categories. My wallet has my everyday essentials, my high priority is all my larger savings goals and low priority is my fun money. I’m going to come out with a video next week talking about how and why I recently condensed my envelopes
@@user-lu2ge7st6bwrite out your monthly bills, and expenses that are required, then check your statements to see what you spend money on. Main ones for me is groceries, personal, car, emergency, gifts and Christmas
I’m low income as well and I’ve condensed a lot of my envelopes as well. When I first started I noticed that it felt like I had too much going on and I felt like I strayed away from the start of cash budgeting which was to save money and have a better relationship with it. I only have one sinking funds binder and I have a lot of other sinking funds online as well. It’s working better for me this way. I also cut down on so many savings challenges because it was getting ridiculous 😂

Hey at the beginning of the year I wipe my tracker clean and use the money I’ve saved to fill in the bigger number for the 100 envelop challenge. That way the larger numbers are out the way. Mentally it feels better for me. Great goals.

Hi. I thought you cash stuff for many years. I don't know how I came across the cash stuffing videos, then I said I think I can do this. I started cash stuffing in December it feels pretty good to save and not spend what I don't need. I'm being very strict on my self. Well I only have one job I do get paid every week so that's great. Thank you for your cash stuffing videos.

Desiree heres a trick for the 100 envelope savings challenge so it doesn't seem as hard. Fill all you're 1-50 envelopes 1st. Then take them back out count it out and transfer that into your bigger envelopes 100-50. Repeat until finished. That way youll get all you're higher amounts filled 1st and once you have all you're 50-100 envelopes filled doing this trick youll only have 1-50 left and itll make it much easier. Just a little trick in the cash envelope budgeting world that makes the 100 envelope challenge easier to do for people 😉 ❤
I’ve actually been told to do this and at first I was like no I’m just going to keep going with how I’m doing it but I think it might be a good idea to try this out and show people in a video. Because those high numbers are going to take forever lol Thank you!

When I first started my cash stuffing journey and I watched the videos I used to see low income in the descriptions and some of the cash stuffers weekly/biweekly amounts appeared to be above the threshold of low income however as I researched it made more sense…however on this topic we must consider other factors such as debt to income ratio, where the income line is for your city and state, how many individuals are in your household, our demographics etc….what we have in savings and investments I live a relatively small town in Indiana so compared to a place such as New York the cost of living is incomparable lol I said all of that to say that according to your city your income may not be as low as you think

Im just hearing of this trend. 😅Just realized I’ve been kinda “cash stuffing” before it became a trend. I always have cash “stuffed” at home. Trust me nothing happens, if you’re scared of fires, you can get a safe or bag that’s fire proof.
I love that! I know other people who have been doing this for decades and they love it too! For some reason lots of viewers are scared for me.. I’m always having to reassure them that I’m fine 😅 and yes a safe is definitely a good idea I have one of those!

I would significantly bump up the Emergency Fund goal. One major car repair or illness would wipe out $1,000 in no time. Trust me, I’ve been there.
Yes! 1,000 is starting goal but most ppl stop there . Mine goal is 2k to cover 1 month bills then next goal is to save for 3 months of bills and so forth.
It’s a starting point, not end goal

Yeah, I don't get how people want you to " pretend" you're low income judt so they can see low income cash stuffing. Sure, many were low income at one time, but usually, the goal is to not be low income anymore and bring in other forms of income, not staying at low income forever. I don't get people, smh . If you are low income, use these videos as inspiration. How not to be low income anymore by having multiple streams of income coming in. Theirs plenty of low income cash envelope budgeters to watch on CZcams at all times.
