- In 2011, Armistead Maupin, author of the seminal series of novels titled Tales of the City, wrote a letter to his 16-year-old self.
In 2021 at London's Roundhouse, he joined our show to read it.
The fact that culture can change so much in one lifetime actually gives me a bit of hope for the future
Just back from a wonderful talk given by Armisted here in Belfast.
So good to actually see and hear this man after picking up his books to read all those years ago.
I feel both grateful and happy, a giddy joy. Can't wait for the next instalment.
Absolutely brilliant!! I love and adore Armistead Maupin and I have for years now. Such a huge fan of Tales of The City. What a beautiful experience this video is. Such a relatable story. Thank you for this!🤗😘❤
So comforting. Thank you.
This is just absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 😘💕
I love Armistead's books!! I have a lot of respect for him
Thanks to this, I wrote my own letter to my former self.
He always delivers these passages so well. And I think he'd allow himself a giggle at the AI transcription of Armistead - it is given as "arm is dead". 😀
The universe was showing off when you were made.
Australia.
this man... I would have been adrift without his books.
This man is my hero.
Love Armistead, that says it all🤗
