I’ve been saying for a minute that the black ops wager system was so ahead of its time. Sticks and stones on a high roller bet guaranteed everyone screaming on mic, broken controllers and soo much satisfaction from winning and robbing everyone. That feeling is what cod needs to get itself back on its feet imo

As far as ghosts go I think the field objective things were a neat idea to give an extra way to earn care packages. I thought they were pretty fun.
I loved that! It would make me stop and do the challenge, like 3 crouch kills, tea bag the next enemy you kill, get a kill from behind and you’d get the super cool map specific thing like Michael Myers

I wanted to like the field objectives, but I had two problems with them. Firstly some of the challenges you randomly get make you play differently to how you want to play so for the gameplay it could be quite jarring. Secondly and mainly, you get a special unique map reward, someone kills you and steals your care package. Whenever that happens, especially when it's one of the best ones like Michael Myers or the Predator, man that was infuriating!
@@theredguy8746 Whenever it was one that didn't fit my style I just ignored it. Pretty simple but I understand what you mean. When it comes to people taking care packages that happens in all the cods. People are constantly trying to steal my care packages.
I think it would be better as a more rare and subtle thing like get a long shot headshot or a knife kill from behind or something. Nothing overly crazy.
Oh well, I doubt it will ever make a return.
The innovative map changes from Ghosts and Advanced Warfare would be an amazing feature to add back too!
The ONLY 2 things I like better in Warzone over Blackout is:
1. The armor system
2. Being able to respawn teammates (+gulag)
Other than that Blackout >>> Warzone
Only thing I would change about Blackout or Warzone is that they never made them. Take the effort to make them and put it into 6v6
My biggest gripe with BO4 was the health system which made Blackout not likable imo. Blackout didn't feel like a COD BR to me, but when I played Warzone for the first time, it felt like I was playing COD still. I don't are much for it now, but my favorite think about this year is probably DMZ which feels great
I agree except I don’t like the idea of constant respawns, I think the Gulag is genius but I think either that should be your only way to be respawned (in the standard BR modes) OR maybe have 1 buy station respawn that way it’s like 3 lives, 3 strikes and you’re out lol
I remember really liking the prestige system from infinite warfare. Having the unlock tokens to unlock classic cod weapons I thought was a really cool idea.

@Talons they weren't DLC weapons but they were exclusive to the prestige system. I think it was ever other prestige you could unlock a classic cod gun.

Asides from Blackout, another feature I wished they brought over to other CODs from BO4 was Operator Mods
Those attachments gave so much personality to each gun and, because of the Pick 10 system, they were not an immediate advantage to have as they costed more points for your loadout
And in general, BO4’s attachment system made each gun feel unique as no gun had the same set of attachments; whatever attachments there were were tailored to the specific gun
Hit the nail on the head with Blackout! Me and my guys had a blast with this game.
Yeah but it was another downfall of cod I didn’t play those games for br I wanted multiplayer. Granted multiplayer was fun but it split the fan base and player base, I left cod bc if they care about br a dying trend more then there fanbase so be it. Last fun game was bo4 ever sense then multiplayer has never been fun I stopped buying them sense 2020 but I rent them at this store for like $8 for 4 days (none of that profit goes to activision which is also a win) just so I can play there decent 5 hour campaign and then bring it back.
This is a VALID list bro. I could only dream that Activision would do something this smart.
I actually liked the Squad Mode they had in Ghosts because it made me feel like I was leveling my own soldier.
This is why so many players go back to older CODs. The challenges was worth the grind, if you can call it grind when you having lots of fun. Latest game are all about spending money in a shop.

If we're honest though there are some games where we would have more than one thing we would take if we could actually make our dream COD without limitations.

Dismemberment still in most of the recent Cod’s, including the one we still have it’s just not as frequent but very noticeable in MW19 and Cold War
I agree with almost everything with this, except for BO2 and Ghosts. I remember coming across an old video critical about the pick 10 system, basically stating that attachments shouldn't be valued as points. And turns out, the Loadout and Perk system in Ghosts pretty much fixed that.
Long story short, you have a base set of points for every Loadout if your primary, secondary, lethal and tactical are all chosen. Take one away, you get another point for perks.
Now, what would I end up taking from BO2 then? The branching campaign with different endings, and choices we make that affect said ending.
I miss having the score streak system over kill streaks to earn your streaks. Score streaks rewarded you more points for playing the objective

One of my favorite features from the old cods was the animation rolling. Reload cancelling, doing YY’s, being able to glide my gun across the screen or do tac knife flips..

I’d love if you and some other cod CZcamsrs did a “Map Draft” where you take turns selecting CoD maps for a certain # of rounds & try to see who picked the group of maps. Kinda like a sports draft

All good ideas but I would add BO1 Combat Record, Lobby Leaderboards, and streaks that actually put in work.

Map specific kill streaks from AW. Such as the Inmate Tracking System on Riot or the turrets on Ascend or the rocket mechs on Comeback.
For MWR and WWII I would even add the depot credits used to craft and unlock weapons. I thought if they could add that to gain weapons and charms, calling cards, etc was a cool way to earn them especially the cooler weapons. Also the feature of paint cans added to blackout to unlock camos was so good! You didn’t have to go out looking for them but if you spotted them you can collect them and save them for camos instead of doing tedious tasks. On the subject of camos treyarch should be in charge of animated camos because since BO3 they’ve had the best ones with BO4 being my personal favorite

Bo3&4 engine (boots on the ground or exo) is the superior engine, at least for CoD specifically, I think the MW19 engine would be perfect for battlefield or tarkov or something more realistic
I’m always so happy to hear you talk up Blackout. It was a phenomenal mode and has always been more fun than Warzone.
Mw3 also had the face off playlists. That’s a must for a perfect cod. They tried it again in 2019 and Cold War but the maps were too small and there weren’t streaks and stuff. It was watered down.

I would love to see your take on what time period and what guns and maps from each COD game you would put into a "perfect COD game"
Other features that need to return:

- Accolades
- Map voting
- Global leaderboards for gamemodes
- Ability to see other players’ stats
- Badass announcers
- Survival mode for the survival fans
Theater mode. Map voting. Combat pacing. Wild cards from cold war. Specialist bonus
Specific map field streaks and field streak guest characters were absolutely amazing from COD 👻

The ability to create a soldier in ghost and advanced warfare was a amazing
What Ghosts did right (imo):
- TTK
- DLC (Maps, Weapons & Camos
- Extinction
- Scoreboard & Killfeed in the top corner
- Perk system
- New specialist system
- Cranked (This paired with specialist was a monster)

I'd actually take the Perk System from Ghost alot of options and customization and the gun customization with the rare, epic, legendary weapons. Feel like there was something to grind for other than camos.
Ghost also brought having a a better sniper sight. Adding side view I stailed of a circle in a black screen
For ghost I would have brought back how the "nuke" changed the layout of the map that was a neat idea, also thank you for the strike package acknowledgement, I loved the idea of "support package" not having lethal kill streaks (accept the trap care package and stealth bomber.... But I would remove the stealth bomber also bring back the emp to district any killstreak not just a localized emp)
I feel ghosts you should've took field orders. The little blue brief case you could pick up and do challenges with mid match giving you a care package. Maybe since this perfect cod game has cod points what if the field orders for every challenge you complete you get some points. Maybe like 10-30 and the more you do in the game the more you get so the second time you get 20 the third 30 etc. Insentevising to move around to find this package to get more points.

I agree with all of the features you mentioned, except that for IW, I would like mission teams to make a return. We’ve never had this in any other COD games as you can rank your mission team levels and unlock special rewards as you go along to max level from the quartermaster
Personally happy that you started the list off with PRESTIGE. I miss having the control
11:55 unless you count DMZ which is directly linked to warzone 2... the factions contain skins but I get your point. Classic characters unlocked through hard item challenges was a neat idea

i agree completely... id like to add on my best features for me World at War: best map design... Black Ops 2: best kill streaks... COD Ghost: Best perk system (added variety, noone ran same thing or crutch perks) Black Ops 3: best mini map design... Black ops 4: best weapon and character customization/player visibility

Nero, I love and, at the same time, hate watching your videos that feature throwback games.
I haven’t played COD since MW. But I thoroughly enjoy watching your content. The videos are always put together well and enjoy your commentary. However, I hate the throwback videos because they always bring back a flood of nostalgic memories and emotions from times playing with my friends/family in my youth.
All the way back playing 2v2 4 way split screen MW2 with my cousins when I was a child, getting scared playing zombies on Kino for the first time. Staying up til 5am, at my cousins, with 2 ps3 systems. Playing split screen, the 4 of us owning BO2 S&D lobbies for hours on end. To many nights spent my freshman year of college playing WW2 after basketball at the college Rex center for hours.
Your videos bring back these memories, knowing that I’ll never be able to go back and play 1 more game of BO2 or MW2 again with the same group of people makes me sad. And for that I hate the videos. But for the same exact reason I love them.
While I don’t play COD anymore, I still enjoy coming back and watching your videos from time to time. Keep pumping them out!
I really hope they change the direction of the game and get back to the roots. But I suspect that might be wishful thinking.
I agree with Nero all the fan base wants is a sense of progression. A reason to keep coming back to the game because of a challenge or prestige system
Man, Advanced Warfare and Black Ops were the perfect COD games to me. AW clan wars was ahead of it's time and so engaging !
I think maybe the interactive and changing maps could've been a good thing to take from ghosts. Also the events being needed is real

I loved blackout, literally played it almost every day with my duo. Endgames actually felt intense, and the game overall wasnt as sweaty as warzone. Also, I loved unlocking all the characters like Woods or Reznov
From ghosts, I would take either the amazing but complex perk system, or the dynamic maps (even though there was only like 3 of them)
one missed opportunity to take a idea from ghosts is possibly the map based killstreaks.
The best COD game would be the one that never happens. This franchise has become so politically and financially correct, the franchise just needs to die off. Or remove cross-play completely for console players.

@@rythik6587 PlayStation, yes. Xbox requires you to so going through the settings via the console to do it. Which in turn makes you never find a lobby. Cross-play was the absolute worst thing to happen along side streamers
@@justinbond15 i played mw2019, cold war, and part of vanguard on Xbox... not once did i have to disable it through my xbox settings. and when i did play with people that didnt want cross play on i found lobbies just as easily, maybe look into NAT type and your internet as the blame, not cross-play. If you think that cross-play was the worst thing to happen to call of duty than you havent been playing the franchise for very long XDXD.
@@rythik6587 I’ve been playing since MW2. And yes, you could disable cross play via the game settings in vanguard, BO Cold War and MW19. But not MW2022 numb nuts.
A couple of other features from the other games:
Ghosts: Field Orders and map specific Killstreaks. Ghosts' base maps were iffish, but the DLC maps were some of the best ever, with fun, off the wall killstreaks like a Ghost Pirate Ship, Timber Wolves, becoming a Death Mariachi, Michael Myers, or the freakin' Predator! It was so awesome, and I would love to see more of that kind of wild, out there kind of maps.
WWII: War Mode. While not as impressive as Operations from Battlefield 1 (which was hands down my favorite mode, so cinematic and immersive!), it was still fun to do. Expanded on it could be amazing, and I think it deserves a chance.
BO4: Reactive Camos. While there have been some reactive camos in the more recent games, BO4 had a ton, and most were free, including Gold, Diamond and Dark Matter. The way they changed and morphed during the match was awesome, and it let other players know who was on a hot streak. Imagine Orion camo, but it shifted and changed, and became a cosmic storm on a gun when you are on a high kill streak. That would be amazing.
Mixing the pick 10 system with the ghosts perk system would be op, also love the Blackout take, definitely had its quirks but miles better than Warzone
the pick 10 only works with perk categories, ghosts having different costs for perks in the same category would ruin your vision i think, but maybe i just don't quite understand what you mean
I don't like the pick 10 system nearly as much as gunsmith, the 5 attachment system makes me far happier. Pick 10 made more sense if all the guns were balanced properly but with the gunsmith you can make certain guns viable that usually aren't or switch what usecase a gun has.

Cod espec mp is so easy to design, fast pace arcade shooter gameplay, include mod tools for constant updates maps and modes made by the players. Implement features etc from past games that people liked & even make better plus fun maps, streaks & guns. I have no idea how all lead design devs still have jobs. 💯
I pretty much agree with everything you decided to "bring back" however I would choose to "bring back" the perk system from Ghosts instead. You can make this work with the pro perk system by making additional perks, that would originally be pro perk features, unlocked by ranking up their "parent" perk. And If we are bringing in something from the new CODs it would have to be the gun smith and unlimited sprint. I say the more customization the better, even if you have to increase the pick 10 to a pick 30 system or higher.

Edit: Finished watching the video and it's unreal how similar our lists are. Real ones who have been around since day 1 know what's up.
I play MWR as my only CoD STILL because it's still the best one available, I hope they remaster BO2 this year as that may be the only thing that would bring me back to cod
They should combine the Advanced Warfare and Ghosts and Black Ops 2 and Vanguard class systems when it comes to customization imagine having ten attachments and any lethal or tactical or perk or weapon that you want. Another thing they should add is launcher customization. There are a lot of features that they should add. I would love to see that squad feature come back and expand upon it to the point where you don't need to cut the xp from it.
I like customizing my own logo but you nailed the good stuff. Ps blackout2 would change everything.
A few things that changed the FPS genre for me was from older cods like, create a class, customising weapons an actual reward for high kill streaks, and one thing I think all games going forward should of had by now is kill cams. I skip them these days but they ability to see how you got killed was rather amusing, especially with the older Rag doll physics and you go flying in the air and shit and last but not least the ability to shoot through walls was so amazing at the time not many games did it but the first time I shot someone through a wall on cod 4 I was in awe and just kept doing it over and over.
I honestly enjoyed bo4 a lot but mainly the zombies on there. Loved the new storyline on bo4 zombies and the multiplayer was so much fun imo

a COD game that all 3 studios worked on full time would be awesome. could be supported for 2-3 years or more, implement a huge amount of features and modes and maps from past games and add new all new modes, maps and features too, could add a new campaign to the game each year, add fan favorite weapons and great new weapons too. tbh i think that would make so much damn money
maybe not a pick 10 but a pick 15? just to add a bit of variety to the guns. I find nice the fact that there are a huge number of attachments. it makes it very personalized so yea maybe 15 items could be better since there are so many things to put on them
