    So if you can design a hook like nozzle, you should be able to clean the valves from inside the cylinders of an engine, not just the piston head.

    • @Shi7boxGarage
      @Shi7boxGarage Před 7 dny

      The issue with that idea is that there is debris from the cleaning. The crap that comes off just doesn't magically disappear into thin air lol.
      Carbon deposits can be very hard/dense and if small chunks ends up in your cylinders, they can score the bore etc.

    It's actually a new technology that cleans and paints at the same time! They decided to use silver. 😁😁

      😂 You'd be surprised how many jobs we quote as, step 1 Dry Ice Blast, step 2 paint. And we never get to step 2. If customer is happy, we're happy.

    This is good to clean grease and dirt. Not good for rust and heavy stuff.
    You also need to have to clean things that withstand low-temperature without damaging them.

    • @Shi7boxGarage
      @Shi7boxGarage Před 7 dny

      The dry ice blasting process doesn't really reduce temps of the part itself to damage it. The dry ice media quickly vaporizes too quickly after contact.
      They use it all the time on rubber parts under the chassis all the time with no ill effects.
      But yes, it is not meant for corrosion removal. It's a cleaning method.

    Gotta be careful around plastic parts. It will cut through them. Not to mention your skin. I used to use this to clean printing presses.

    • @alexwalker8422
      @alexwalker8422 Před 2 měsíci

      Is it possible to have the dry ice hook around and shoot back upward with a part that can fit in a spark plug hole? If you have the ability to shoot stuff at the valves from inside the cylinders of an engine, you could remove the carbon from both the top and the bottom of said cylinders.

    • @alexwalker8422
      @alexwalker8422 Před 2 měsíci

      A device like this should probably come with a pinhole camera capable of recording during and right after being in a stream of dry ice, although perhaps all you would need is a consistent enough coverage of the valves to where you would only need to check just to make sure.

    • @larryharry7221
      @larryharry7221 Před 6 měsíci +1

      You need a very large compressor. Commercial grade. Sorry I can't tell you the specs. Also the dry ice ain't cheap. Need a well ventilated area, you're breathing carbon dioxide.
