  • I READ 9 BOOKS IN MAY!! And that sounds like a lot but I've actually been in a reading slump and haven't read anything since the middle of May... So in attempts of fixing that I have a pretty exciting June planned so let's see what's on my TBR!!
I read so many thrillers in may!! I still can't believe it. June is going to be a romance and fantasy month for sure.
AND HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!!! You are worthy just the way you are. Everyone should be free to be their true self.

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult was the best book I read in May. Mad Honey and Wish You Were Here, also by her, are two of my favorite books I’ve ever read! Happy Reading ❤

Nineteen Minutes was one of the most impactful books I have ever read in my entire life. In fact, it stuck with me for so long, that I even included it in my college dissertation 😅 (my topic was "Pedagogy and Books") It's a great book indeed!

The best book I read in May was Red Dust by Fleur McDonald, her first published book. It’s an Australian crime fiction about a stock stealing ring. I absolutely loved it 5 🌟 read and I’ve already read 2 more of her books this month and have started a fourth
I got to meet Fleur last year when did a tour down the east coast of Australia promoting her newest book

The queer romance I have for this month is "On the Same Page" by Haley Cass (on KU in the US)
The queer sff book I have is "August Kitco and the Mechas from Space" by Alex White (supposed to be very funny very gay and very good!)
In the horror section I have "What moves the Dead" by T Kingfisher.

I read some Emily Henry in May and for me she’s the only straight romance author I like. Her plots are actually not driven solely by the romance and her characters have depth and wants beyond a guy. So if you want to add another book to your stack of straight romances, I recommend Book Lovers.
And for queer romances, I’ve enjoyed Alison Cochrun. I feel her writing is quite humorous and never felt like everything else in the plot fell to the wayside in favor of the couple. My favorite is Kiss Her Once for Me which is Christmas-themed, so perhaps not great for June, but she just released a road trip romance which is very summer (Here We Go Again).

Read and loved Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh in May! It was kind of like if Carol was a dark crime thriller lol

May wasn’t a great reading month for me in terms of quality lmao. The best book I probably read was Bright Young Women and then for non-fiction I could NOT put down The Girl With Seven Names.
